Pro Cycling 2022

Seems the steephill.tv is struggling to continue the service...Crying shame, literally one of my favourite websites

Sorry, there will likely not be any significant updates to this site going forward with the possible exception of the Grand Tours and the Monuments. Currently evaluating options to keep this site going. --

They can't stop the Pog and I'm fine with that. He can attack from far out and he can also do that boring thing that Roglic does at mountain top finishes.
If he really wanted to I'm convinced he could win the Tour by an hour but there's no point in doing that to keep fresh for another Monument win.

UAE and Jumbo Visma turning MSR into a mountain stage on the Cipressa...Pog will likely explode up the Poggio to drop WVA...Great times!

So many sick riders and withdrawals that this month's results could almost come with asterisks.
Can never remember things this bad.

Covid infections are still happening, fortunately not deaths. Saying that, haven't there been lots of cases of flu?
Don't forget cyclists, due to diet and training, have very poor immune systems.

I finally got round to watching all the Paris-Nice highlights today, without knowing the result beforehand. Exciting stuff, especially that last stage, which I had thought would be a procession.

For those with GCN+ there’s a nice new documentary from Dan Lloyd on there, “How To Win Flanders”. Good to get in the mood for Sunday…

Hard to look past WvA and MvdP on current form (MvdP winning today at Dwars door Vlaanderen), especially with Quickstep seemingly having forgotten this year that they’re meant to be the team that wins all the cobbled races :hmm:

Will watch that but I regret renewing with GCN as those films are usually a bit meh. With Eurosport/Discovery I would have had options to watch downhill skiing and programmes about wolves.
Just about everyone at QS has been ill this year and no one has stepped up to take their place. Still hoping Asgreen is in the mix and I'm betting on Senechal as a slight outsider in P-R. I don't mind MvdP but just for the hell of it I hope someone else wins besides him and Van Aert. They've only won one Monument each so far despite the acres of media hype. But yeah I think MvdP will win - he almost always does head-to-head with Van Aert.

There’s a couple of duds but a lot of them are great, particularly the ones that are more travel documentary in their style.
I liked the one about the American guy doing kermesses, hoping for a little contract.
The London-Holyhead one was interesting for the history but about 90% of the screen time featured Connor Dunne and his mate.

Anything with Jenny Graham in it is worth watching, but particularly her round the world one, she's fucking amazing.

Never been into cyclo-touring. I might have a look since I paid for it.

Meanwhile Jumbo have said van Aert is doubtful for RVV. People losing their shit on the Cycling News forum saying it's not worth watching if he is not riding. The best reply was that that was like not watching the Tour because Richie Porte was ill - both of them win all the warm up races but not the big one :)

Was speaking to a Belgian guy and he reckoned Allaphilipe has been spotted around there, they haven’t been themselves, have they?
