Pro Cycling 2021

Pidcock, obviously.

He won’t be, but it would be amazing.
No way would I want to see Ineos have the beautiful jersey next season ever.
I'd love Remco to win but Belgium are playing all their cards on getting the silver medal so some random Dane, hopefully Asgreen, for me.

I’m fairly team indifferent tbh. I like Pidcock as a rider.

Valgren. Hopefully Van Aert will just get marked out of it.
Denmark have an awesome team.
Hopefully Belgium let Remco and Stuyven take a flyer but they really seem to be backing van Aert.
In any case I really hope it it's very selective race and doesn't finish in a bunch sprint.

I think you need to find a way of dealing with your relationship to Ineos. Perhaps some exposure therapy? Try thinking of Ineos during the happiest times you have. Picture Bernal’s face as you sip your first coffee of the day, or Pidcock’s as you reach the vinegar strokes.

I would quite like Van Aert to break this silver streak. His hair annoys me though.

Oh do fuck off.
Actually that's quite funny..never occurred to me to think of having a wank over Pidcock.

Well yeah, can’t argue with that side of it.
There's loads more imo as well: no women's team, the way they dealt or rather didn't deal with Moscon after the racism incident, the missing laptop etc. But mostly it's the imbalance of wealth that they and UAE have.

Well quite, and it’s not as if that fucker is any stranger to controversy. Enjoy the careers of the riders, fuck the teams. Well, the management.

:hmm:
Ha, Cycling News really have it for him though admittedly he does leave himself wide open at times but what he's saying there is he hasn't the know how to bring together a Belgiancentric team as there are so many things wrong at grassroots levels that he can't fix it.
Compare that to Britain where thanks to grants and lottery money there is a wealth of young talent and Ineos unlike Quickstep is not short of funds.

Err, it's a team sport. he is becoming a bit of a Tinkoff though.

Hence 'well, the management'. I meant more fuck engaging with the tribalist aspect of team sports in any case... It seems a lot less necessary in cycling, though clearly people do. I can't imagine supporting someone like Lefevre or Brailsford just because I've become attached to their teams.

I doubt people support managers in any sport. I could be wrong but would any Chelsea fans have switched allegiance to Man Utd after Mourinho went there?
That CN article realiy is twisted though. Lefevere has invested in the women’s peloton through a company he owns. He mentioned that in the interview that CN based the article on but they chose not to refer to it. I must admit I do respect him a lot fir his longevity at the top but he talks some shite, though in this case it’s more a case of biased journalism. I guess that’s the price he pays after stupid outbursts about Bennett (whose probably no angel in that whole affair but his agent advised him to keep his mouth shut).

Choice of GCN (Hatch, Smith Blythe) or BBC (Rendell. Boardman, York) today.
Blythe is the best of the lot but another five hours of Smith will be tough.
