Polly Toynbee # 1 "Of course the wealthy want an immigration free-for-all"

No wonder the right thinks the left closes down debate when the topic of immigration comes up. :(

Is there any possibility the thread topic might resume?

nino -

IMO if you tell someone to 'piss off', then tell them to 'Fuck off and take your cod socialism with you', but refuse to actually point out anything they've said that you disagree with, or appologise if you've wrongly lumped them in with other people (whoever it was that first lumped them together) - then you're a twat pure and simple.

are you a twat? coz you really come across that way in this thread:rolleyes:

What the fuck are you talking about? Have you come to give L&L a helping hand? If so, he doesn't need it.

I see I'm going to have to put you on ignore as well.

I haven't a clue why this has happened, but it looks like much too much personal abuse for no reason at all to me. Kindly keep posts on-topic, everyone.

Fridge, it isn't everyone who needs to behave.

just calling it how I saw it as a relatively impartial observer.

sorry FM, but IMO DLR had made some decent posts on this thread and needlessly got jumped on by Nino.

as you were;)

I thought I'd made it pretty clear with the "personal abuse for no reason at all" bit who I was referring to, but the thing is, the most important point is for threads to stay on topic. If I say "X is being a wanker" and a whole load of people post saying "yeah, you wanker" that is just as disruptive if not more. Therefore I generally ask everyone to stay on topic, and try to take action as appropriate. The former of which I'll do again here because this isn't really the place to discuss moderating protocol etc.

The free market arguement on migration is looking more and more desperate..

Arguing that "people should go where the money is" is entirely consistent with right wing beliefs but how did sections of the Left ever fall for it?
A lack of Internationalism?
A reaction against how the far right used the issue?

Either way its good that many people are now thinking again on Immigration.

Yes, but your still lined up with the BNP in being opposed to immigration.

People go to where the work is to sell their labour in the "free market" (workers have just the one freedom btw and that is to starve).

You try to argue against that capitalist reality and wish to put controls on the one thing a worker has to sell which is their labour.

So, at the end of the day your position is a bizarre one calling for reactionary reform.

Of course i could mention that your lining up with George Bush etc etc and that the BNP are being entirely opportunistic and dishonest in their position...

Hitler like you and George Bush liked the idea of "Guest workers"

And "arguing against the capitalist reality" As a Socialist you think thats a bad thing????????????????????????

No revolution any time soon Balders. So we are for the moment stuck with what we've got - workers who have only their labour to sell. A capitalist reality you must agree?

Hitler had no "guest workers" - that was organised slave labour. I'm not sure if there's a comparison with George Bush (that's appears to be you, letting your wild rhetoric get the better of you).

Wasn't impressed with your very weak reply there tb
