There's something vaguely familiar about those photos but I can't quite put my finger on it!Went up the Croydon alps funicular to the end of the line today. Stopped off half-way to pick up some Kenley mint cake in case we became benighted, obvs. Walked so far out into the countryside that we had to get a blue, yes blue, bus and the driver fella said that Oysters were no good; we had to pay real money.

Was it you with the Brandy barrel carrying St Bernards at the col? There's something vaguely familiar about those photos but I can't quite put my finger on it!
Carrying a barrel of brandy AND the St Bernards has done my back in. I won't be doing that again in a hurry for the tourists. Was it you with the Brandy barrel carrying St Bernards at the col?
Joshing aside, as a local I'm sure you'll appreciate this true tale from our walk. Once we'd sauntered down to the motorway, crossed the bridge and struck out for Godstone, we were taking a drinks break at North Park farm (before cutting across the fields on the FP) when a Police car rolled up and stopped. OB (BTP) wound down the window and asked if we were locals? So I said "no, not really...but we had just walked the entire road ahead of them". OB1 then asked me if there was a railway line up ahead? Helpfully, I told him that I was aware of a motorway and a chalk escarpment, but no railway! Makes you wonder....Carrying a barrel of brandy AND the St Bernards has done my back in. I'll stick to snowboard tricks on the half-pipe in future.
There were a lot of police cars around at the weekend so I guess some of them won't have been local but even so, you'd expect them to have access to SatNav or some sort of online map. If they were looking for the cross-country line through South Godstone they were definitely in the wrong place.Joshing aside, as a local I'm sure you'll appreciate this true tale from our walk. Yep, thems was my thoughts. There were a lot of police cars around at the weekend so I guess some of them won't have been local but even so, you'd expect them to have access to SatNav or some sort of online map. Ha! I think I've just worked it out. They wanted SOUTH Park Farm which is very near to the cross-country railway line to the west of South Godstone.Yep, thems was my thoughts.
Got it; the Bletchingley Tunnel.Ha! I think I've just worked it out. They wanted SOUTH Park Farm which is very near to the cross-country railway line to the west of South Godstone.
Yes, I think there’s a bit of a tunnel. But the farm is on South Park Lane as opposed to North Park Lane where you were and it’s near the tunnel entrance. There’s some photos I took up thread of a ride I took down there and there might have even been a tunnel ventilation turret in one of them.Got it; the Bletchingly Tunnel.
We might manage a 'Spot the ACG sticker' thread at this rate... here's one I didn't expect to see a few months back walking up Scarborough castle mound
