Paralympics - Who's Going?

Yeah. I know what the schedule is, but I don't know who exactly is going to be taking part in what. I tried looking it up, but the info wasn't available at the time.

Best way is to look at the categories and then see who's in that category

See the drop down menu under "select an event" on the right and it lists the classifications and who's in that classification. Will give you some idea

Thanks. :)

When I looked earlier there was no info, except a message saying to look closer to the Games.....unless I wasn't looking in the correct place.

Yeah, I've been looking as well and there's a lot of information missing. I only accidentally stumbled upon that when looking at classifications. I still have trouble finding my way to that particular page :D

They seem to have been a bit slack with the paralympian athletes page compared to the Olympians

I'm still a bit confused though. If I select one of the events I'm going to see (Mens 200 Metres T44 Round 1) it comes up with 18 different athletes! Surely they all can't be in the same race?

Once you've clicked on the athlete click on events/schedule (I think) and it'll come up above (but not in all cases.

I'll have to find my way back to it to explain it better

Looks like a ton of tickets available atm if anyone's interested.

Edit: Scrap that. They're all showing as "Unavailable".

I'm going to pick up my tickets tomorrow - for Thursday at the Excel - didn't realise that they gave you a travel card as well - :) I have a day pass but can't get the day off - so heading down after work on Thursday:)

Yeah, including the travel pass definitely makes the tickets a lot cheaper.

You don't get a travelcard though if you haven't bought a ticket for an event. Luckily I have an event on all three of my days so I'm covered but have to go to Horseguards to pick up athletics tickets although I could pick them up at Stratford on one of the days I go, but I want them in my hands and don't want to have to queue at Stratford! At least with Horseguards I can do some shopping at the same time :D

When I picked up my Travelcard at Stratford before the Olympics Athletics there was only about 2 or 3 people in the queue in front of me, and loads of windows. This was on a Saturday afternoon.

Yeah, but considering Horseguards is only a half hour bus ride, it is 1) quicker for me to go to Horseguards and 2) much cheaper to go to Horseguards :D

I only needed it because there were no direct trains back from SI to Sittingbourne that night, so I had to go via Victoria!

eh? mine is a day pass, there will be events there, how am I supposed to get there - use my own Oyster card ?

Not sure if you get a travelcard with the Day Pass  I'm thinking you wouldn't as you haven't paid for a ticketed event :hmm:

You've just paid for a Day Pass which is for General Admission (subject to availability) to certain venues. You haven't actually bought a ticket for a venue. Or have you?

Spectators with tickets for Games events in London will receive a Games travelcard for zones 1-9 to use on public transport in London on the day of their event.

This will include the London Underground (Tube), London Overground, DLR, bus, tram and some mainline rail services, but not the Heathrow, Stansted or Gatwick Express trains or taxis. Ticket holders for Games events will also be entitled to a one-third discount on river service tickets in London.

Ticket holders for Games events at Eton Dorney, will receive the same entitlement to free public transport in London. Ticket holders will also be able to travel by rail free of charge between London and the designated rail stations for each of these venues.

Ticket holders at co-Host City venues will not receive free transport. For further information please visit www.london2012.com/travel

I reckon you're going to have to ask around as I'm not sure. I know with the Olympic Park pass (the one that cost £5), you definitely do not get a free travelcard, but don't know about the Olympic Park Day Pass
