Paralympics - Who's Going?

When my husband was told he could have a free ticket he didn't even consider me as a recipient, and neither did I as my top three dislikes are noise, crowds and sport. Our first thought was "Eldest child, middle child or youngest?"

Pip went. Both her siblings immediately felt she was the one who would enjoy it most.

That's very nice of them. I saw that singer, but I didn't see your husband

Ok, I take it back: you're not stubborn. :hmm:

Oh, just remembered, what block were you in bungles? It's occurred to me if you're the wrong side of the stadium, you're probably not going to see much of the 100m if you're at ground level :hmm:

wish I could have taken the day off  but will leave at 4 and attempt the double - Olympic Park first via the Javelin - then on down to Excel - I reckon a couple of hours at the park is doable - then hop on a train down to Excel - what could possibly go wrong ? :hmm:

:D

You'll be too knackered, the DLR will break down, they'll be wrong type of leaves on the line, Gamesmakers will hold a strike, there'll be a powercut

I was too knackered to make it to excel :D it's tiring wandering around the Olympic Park , spent over 2 hours just wandering about, had a cornish pasty (£5) and a hog roast roll (£8 with salad!) although I shared that with mrs21 - glad I went - amazing place - everyone was so happy to be there! Got the Javelin there - which is just an ordinary train

Notice how I put "you'll be too knackered" first! :p:D

I have to do it with a wheelchair, for hours on end. £5 for a cornish pasty  Fish and chips is only £8.50 apparently

So the javelin's totally overrated then? Think I'll stick to Jubilee line then :D

I was only joking about the Javelin - only takes 10 minutes to get to Stratford - probably the quickest way - got the overland back to Liverpool St - everyone else was crowding onto the tube - the overland was empty

I'd need to figure out the distance between exiting the tube from the Victoria Line to the platform for the Javelin to see if it's worth it or not.

Oh, hadn't even considered overhead from Stratford to Liverpool Street but that means changing onto tube etc. May as well stick with Jubilee Line to London Bridge and bus direct from there.

w00t :D Just managed to get morning athletics on Monday too :D  A load more tickets have just gone on sale so be quick...
