All aboard the 303 bus.
I can, I've got about 5 or 6 mates in their late 40's/50's/60's and they're always out partying.Hmm yeah ok...
Can't really see it to be honest. Once a week, really?

Seeing as the stats are coming from a gig/event ticketing agency, I suspect they're lumping in any kind of gig as well, and there's plenty of Ye Olde Bands From The Distant Past playing big stadiums these days."Going somewhere that isn't your house where music is playing you can dance to"
yeh there's never been a better time to see bands from the 1980s and 1990sSeeing as the stats are coming from a gig/event ticketing agency, I suspect they're lumping in any kind of gig as well, and there's plenty of Ye Olde Bands From The Distant Past playing big stadiums these days.
imagine he's got a new settee thoI bet this guy's still going
I'm going to Noisily festival in a few weeks, I think there's about 50 other people in our camping group, and I'm definitely one of the youngest at 36.I turned 45 yesterday and haven't received my rave invite yet.
I think the figures only work if other things like 'visit to Toby Carvery' are included under the general heading of 'raving'.

Raving is just going out dancing so drunkenly swaying to Rod Stewart in your local pub with a late license is probably counted in this pisspoor survey
I read it as every week there will be 3.7 million people over the age of 45 out raving? Not that they do it every week.
Anyway I hate this fucking obsession with age and raving. There have been some articles recently "When are you to old to rave?" Never, now do one.

Those big gigs would bump up the attendance averages.
and the dogging sitesMore like they've included all the swingers clubs.

this ^^^Quick pint on the way home from work?
Surely everyone who ever went 'raving' is pushing fifty by now anyway?
I used to go to discos or nightclubs - we got kicked out at 2am and went for a kebab - is that raving ?In your sixties you can't remember what you used to call it. Clubbing and raving sound quite modern. I think we called it 'going for a bop'. Or 'dancing'.
My dad, who's 80 and northern, always used to refer to any party or a bit of a drink as a 'rave up'. Maybe they were using his definition. In your sixties you can't remember what you used to call it. Clubbing and raving sound quite modern. I think we called it 'going for a bop'. Or 'dancing'.
I'm one of the youngest in my group. We go out most weeks.
I'm 37
judging by the booze there there can't have been many people at this party, i was at an 80th birthday do recently with more empties than thatThose figures translate to 192 million nightclub admissions a year, which is about 80 million more than the total number of admissions for all clubs/ages. Would be great if they were accurate.
We, me 50 Mrs Anju 48, were weekly ravers for many years then kids, health and money issues, all rave related, put a stop to most hedonistic stuff for a long time. Slowly getting back into going out now and this year have been out at least once a fortnight. I think a big part of our going out out again is because our kids are now 18 and 21 so can take care of themselves. That new found freedom might account for a spike in going out figures for 45 plus people, though not 3.7 million a week.
Scene from near the end of a 54th birthday gathering last Saturday. There was dancing and we only stopped when a neighbour complained about our shouty out of tune version of country living at 4am. Not exactly raving but more fun and less comeback.
