Over 3.7 million Brits over 45 go raving once a week

I like these stats:

Over 3.7 million Brits over the age of 45 go raving once a week, a new study says.

Eventbrite has found that there's still a love for raving among the middle age demographic, with those calling themselves the EverGroovers.

Refusing to be too old to rave, the group insist on continuing to party, with 60 per cent of the 170 EverGroovers - led by 59-year-old former Kiss FM DJ Gordon Mac - questioned said nothing would stop them raving and two-fifths claiming they have more stamina than people half their age. 24 per cent even said they rave more in their 40s than in their younger days.

This comes as no surprise after a bunch of rave lifers told us that 37 being branded the official age that's too old to go clubbing was nonsense. Now, adults apparently think 39 is the age you become too old.

Mixmag also says the number of clubs in Britain almost halved between 2005 and 2015 - but maybe this 3.7 million over-45 ravers have rejected corporate clubbing to return to the warehouse parties of their youth and if so, I'm annoyed that I never get invited along.

Yep, and another article suggests 680 illegal raves /year (which is probably an underestimate since it’s ‘reported’, but hey). If we’re ridiculously generous and say 680 illegal raves per week, making 2413 rave events/week, that would still be 1533 people per venue, all over 45.

Not sure what they consider corporate Vs warehouse. Things like the steel yard are like warehousey but massively corporate.

Imagine if 3.7 million over 45s really did rave once a week. Each town would have a couple of large clubs full of grooving grey hairs. Mixmag and associated publications would have funeral plan and conservatory advertising.

I'd be moderately surprised if there were even 500,000 weekly 45+ ravers.

I read it as every week there will be 3.7 million people over the age of 45 out raving? Not that they do it every week.

Anyway I hate this fucking obsession with age and raving. There have been some articles recently "When are you to old to rave?" Never, now do one.
