Olympic Opening Ceremony, London 2012

Good call, and seeing those people dancing in Bobbies and various "British" costumes etc  Originality factor 0.

:D

Yeah, not into that type of crap.

I don't know what brought it into my head, but just a minute ago I suddenly thought of that little girl in China who did the singing, except they used a prettier girl with good teeth to mime to her.

It would have been great to get her back to sing live - just to embarrass the Chinese, but it probably wouldn't be good for business :D

Wish they'd get it over and done with. b/f has just woken up and asked me who lit the flame

Have told him it's not lit until it gets in the stadium.

He thought that guy in Hyde Park had lit it last night.

This is despite watching it go down the Thames earlier today.

Just caught a snippet of an interview with the woman who designed the Athens opening ceremony said "the 400m sprint always looks the same, its the iconic moments from the opening ceremonies that people remember".

I'm pretty sure I remember more sporting moments than ceremony moments... :hmm:

Woo hoo

Red Arrows! Didn't know they were coming on this early. Stuck camera out window and realised no card in it. Mad scramble for card, no time to adjust settings

I very much enjoy the enthically variable shading of the headpiece mics.

They do rather draw the eye, don't they? :D
Denise Lewis had hers far too close to her mouth; she sounded like she was playing a school recorder every time she said a word with an S in it.
