Olympic Opening Ceremony, London 2012

I have to say I think it peaked early. Much of what followed was still very good, but most of the "holy fuck!" stuff was near the beginning.
yeah, wouldn't disagree with that.

I think that is the nature of a lot of opening ceremonies though - I remember Bejing was like "Fuuuuuuck"...then the middle was a bit small child sings, loads of drums, interesting and worthy but a bit dull then "Fuuuuuck" towards the end again :D

Envious of you having seen it in person like, I do hope you will be on here going "Well, that looks good on the telly but when you were there...." I would!! :D

You also won't to dive into the massive ball pond they create at the end. You'll just have to watch everyone else having the most fun ever experienced by human beings.

#save the surprise

I liked the bit where...they do that *censored* with the *censored* in the stadium....

I'm looking forward to watching this from the top floor of a tower block in Stokey and even if its midgets dancing round a replica of Stonehenge it will be a giggle

^^ from the dress rehearsal. £27m :D

Bit Beatles/Sgt Pepper...

btw, people who have seen the preview are raving about it...

'It made me proud to be a Londoner.'

pardon, i thought it was meant to be about all the Uk, I do hope it covers the Blitz though, but across the country, I'm sure it will be a cheerleader for 'diversity'*

not against diversity, but i don't like state cheerleading for something so complex, contested, etc..

It's the one bit of the olympics I'll probably watch. Still a massive waste of money, but I bet it will be pretty spectacular.
