There was certainly some chest-thumping (or whatever the equivalent is for us reserved Brits), and I was a bit
about the Jerusalem stuff, and it was all a little bit liberal, but there was also a lot of good stuff in there that I'm sure will have plenty of Tories muttering into their cream teas tomorrow. I liked it, on the whole.

When OB tried to bring in the health reforms in the US a lot of their news channels showed the NHS as a failed institution that spread disease, was chronically understaffed, offered sub-standard care etc. Whilst totally ignoring the hundreds of thousands of lives it saves each year; enhancing, prolonging the life for just about every person resident in this country.
Many Americans took this as fact therefore have quite screwed ideas about the NHS. They're not aware of the pioneering work of the NHS or how it is so highly regarded here by all but a tiny minority of tory pieces of shit. Jesus, even most tories seem to recognise the NHS as a good thing - alas not the ones with any real say.

The Americans just don't get it. I don't understand it
Our health system (whilst not perfect) is the envy of countries all over the world. Others have better, but I'd rather have this than the American or Irish or similar systems

As far as I can tell, it's a mixture of American individualism and letting the quest for the perfect solution obscure the one that's good enough.
