Group D
Liverpool
Ajax
Atalanta
Midtjylland

If we don't win it then I am supporting Midtjylland :D

I reckon we should beat that team from Lilyhammer :D

Liverpool: Adrian, N Williams, R Williams, Van Dijk, Milner, Grujic, Jones, Wilson, Minamino, Jota, Salah.

Subs: Kelleher, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Gomez, Robertson, Origi, Elliott.

Rhian Brewster has completed a deal to join Sheffield United on a permanent transfer, Liverpool Football Club can confirm.

The season is ma coupla weeks and 2/3 games old (depending on which team you support).
But already, I see Liverpool as red-hot favourites to win the EPL again. Chelse3a and Arsenal are fast-improving, but nowhere near ready to challenge them, Wolves, Everton and Leicester haven't the all-round strength yet, and Spurs and Man Utd are simply miles away.
Which leaves just City. And on the strength of that dreadful display against Leicester, if they are to mount any sort of realistic challenge to 'Pool, they need to massively improve their defence.
as it stands, Liverpool look a street ahead of the chasing pack

Sadio's got COVID. He'll probably be fine as he's one of the fittest players on earth but I hope he gets well soon
I hear he got the Covid then tackled back, regained possession, scored a hatrick and STILL complained about being subbed in the 80th minute :D

I had high hopes for the lad, but I trust the boss. By what he didn't say it's obvious that he doesn't think he's going to make it at Liverpool.

From where I'm sitting it seems like a good deal for Liverpool. If Brewster develops into the type of player that could challenge for a starting spot at Liverpool then they can buy him back. If not, no bother as they've got the £££ and 15% of any future fee.

Development of Curtis Jones probs also led to the sale.

More like the purchase of Diogo Jota

Brewster is good and I guess very young, he'll get game time at Sheffield so will deffo keep an eye on his progress.

Brewster is more of a goalscorer, a proper centre forward. In that sense, keeping Brewster is only really a backup for Firmino (and nowhere near like for like, since he's a bit of a one off in terms of style), whereas Jota (like Origi) can replace any of the front 3 (Salah to CF when it's Firmino having a day off).

For any club losing a seriously talented youngster can be a bit of a wrench, but it definitely makes more sense to have Jota on the books than Brewster if the manager doesn't think there's room for both.

Its not great that we've sold another young player, however, like others have said, there was always a question of how he would play if he was ever going to get into the first team.

The two bits of good news, I suppose, is that there's the buyback if he turns out to be amazing, but also getting £23.5 for a player that's not even played in the Premier (or at least started) is a master stroke.

It is sad when any young player leaves but he wants and needs first team football and will struggle to get that at LFC.

From the little I have seen he has potential to be a hell of a good striker and has been trained with some of the world's best. I hope he returns to the fold in a few years time
