Anfield does weird things to people.

Pep going bananas doesn't surprise me, he always has been a bit volatile. I think fans would prefer that to him being a Stepford Smiler like Roberto Martinez. Fans like emotional managers - Danny Röhl is like an excitable puppy and it's really sweet. And, well, Klopp exists.
