Liverpool 2024-25

Well, Newcastle away in December was always going to be tougher than Real Madrid and City at home.

Should have won, but I guess a draw was a fair result for the Geordies.

That was a brilliant game for us neutrals. Swinging back and forth.

Newcastle were a different team from the one who couldn't manage a shot on target against Palace.

That Newcastle goal from the almost impossible angle. Fucking hell!

Draw was fair, I thought. No-one deserves to lose a great game like that.

Yeah, we've had some absolute classics with Newcastle over the years.

That 4-3 one was Stan Collymore ruining Newcastles season, I think? The Keegan 'I'd love it if we beat them" season, maybe?

There were two weren't there, in consecutive seasons. Collymore scored the winner in the first one which was really back and forth, think it might have been Fowler in the other one, I think Liverpool were 3-0 up and Newcastle got back to 3-3 in that one, went looking for the winner and got done in IT. Not sure which was that particular season though.

Around that time was really peak PL interest for me - not far off 30 years ago, somewhat terrifyingly

First half I thought Leicester might hang on to the lead as they were defending well. Until the equaliser we were showing signs of exasperation with sloppy passes etc. Even Trents corners were wayward. Goal totally changed it though, we were great from that moment on.

My only worry is that arguably our three best players still haven't signed new deals
Same here. I thought Mo, at least, was pretty much done and dusted a couple of weeks ago. Not sure what's gone on there.

Nuñez' inability to score is annoying me now. I know he's a great playmaker, workrate is phenomenal etc but if he's in front of goal, I never expect him to put it away. I'd have Diaz or Jiota on before him any time.

It blows my mind that Jones is only 23.
Maybe it's because he's been in and around the first team since he was 18 (he scored that goal against Everton in the FA Cup on the day my son was born, incidentally), but in my head he's the same age as Trent, or at least Gomez.

Jones has a kid of his own now too.
