Nadine Dorries: Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport

Taking the position of Northstead Manor or the Chiltern Five Hundreds is a paid position. I can’t find out just how lucrative it is. Is it a salary or a lump sum?

Chiltern Hundreds and the Manor of Northstead - UK Parliament

The Steward and Bailiffs of the Chiltern Hundreds and of the Manor of Northstead were positions traditionally paid for by the Crown. In modern times they are unpaid, formal titles that are applied for when an MP needs to disqualify themselves from the Commons.

Of course Boris may well have got a Tory donor to pay for the ceremonial costume.

To me, it's weird that there's a strain of (soon to be former) Tories, who aspire to have a Trumpian version of the truth.
Which is to say that unless they win, then there's some grand conspiracy against them.
Even with people as myopic as Johnson, Truss, Dorries (et al) they must see that it at best makes you look deluded, and at worst a 'globalist' dog whistle away from being antisemitic.

she already got the title the honourable Nadine Dorris she just getting greedy anyways

plus she thinks it will help with the proverty porn or just the run of the mill porn books

She undoubtedly gave unswerving loyalty to the last PM reads like she knows there is a coms trail that proves someone is swerving her promisedreward

Reminds me of that bit in Only Fools & Horses when Delboy wanted to join the Freemasons but had to get past a ‘blackballing’ process. “Have you ever seen the bottom of a rabbit hutch?”.

Reckon it will be the same with Dorries, vetoed by any and all persons involved in the selection process just for being an arsehole.

Can't wait to hear about her first thoughts about poor Boris this morning... :)

Just in from Deluded Dorries.

His close political ally Ms Dorries warned Tory MPs they faced losing their jobs if they backed the findings.

“Any Conservative MP who would vote for this report is fundamentally not a Conservative and will be held to account by members and the public,” she said.

“Deselections may follow. It’s serious. MPs will now have to show this committee what real justice looks like and how it’s done.”

:D

Deluded Dorries has been on the juice again.

Nadine Dorries has launched an attack on the current government, claiming she is “actually smarter than these guys in No10”.

She who thought C-4 gobbled up public money, so wanted to privatise it, when in fact it's profitable, so smart she then made this false claim...

The former culture secretary, who is said she is quitting as a Conservative MP, has also made the false claim that Boris Johnson was “top of his year” at the University of Oxford, while Rishi Sunak “came 200-and-something”.

And, not bitter at all -

And she said that, while she was always “quite supportive of Rishi”, he has “behaved in such a way that’s made me think what you see on the surface is all fake”.

The Independent piece is a write up of quotable bits of the interview she gave the FT

It's quite interesting IMO.

Interesting in explaining why she likes Johnson so much, because they are both liars, that don't even realise they are doing it, bonkers.

How would Dorries rank the five Tory prime ministers since 2010? “[David] Cameron’s big mistake was not going to Europe and negotiating a better deal. His second mistake was resigning when he did.”

It is a staggering rewrite. Dorries called for Cameron to resign in May 2016, claiming he’d “lied profoundly” in the Brexit campaign. She even sent a no-confidence letter. “Were there [no-confidence letters]? I don’t think so,” she says. “He was a good prime minister. I think it was selfish of him to resign.”

Dorries blurs fact and fiction so easily, I’m not even sure she notices. Her defensiveness, acquired through fire, seems to stop her questioning herself. Perhaps one day she’ll remember having liked Sunak.
