That's a good crust.

I've just googled that pie - even when cut into it's quite attractive and going by the ingredients there'd be enough flavour and texture for meateaters to not feel as if they were missing out.

I had some friends over for tea a few days ago. Cucumber sandwiches were on the menu. Now, you may think that it's not worth gloating over cucumber sandwiches but the cucumber in the picture, finely chopped, salted and left to dry out for a while, went to make the best cucumber sandwich you could imagine.

Well if I'm going to gloat, I baked the bread, chopped off the crusts and used unsalted butter.

I had some leftover risotto, so I made some arancini (balls of risotto, filled in the middle, coated with breadcrumb)

I made some of these today. The first time I've ever had leftover risotto. They were so tasty, it's worth making the risotto specially for it.
