Moronic England fan given 10 years for pushing Polish builder onto tube tracks

If attempted murder was the charge he could have got off by claiming to be pissed & having no intent to murder but just reacting to a situation he found himself in. Thankfully the victim survived.
 
People have made good points on this thread, and people with knowledge of how things work have offered useful insights. We all agree the guy is an arsehole who got what he deserved but the rape comment was unnecessary as xenon has pointed out. Rape is rape and is wrong.

I did time after a picket line offence in the 80's. All the way from the court to Pentonville the screws were giving me shit about how I was a nice young boy who was going to get his arse punctured. It wasn't funny.

Maybe a job as a diver in the pit at Sellafield....I could think of lots of worthwhile things this young gentleman could do for the betterment of society.

Making a joke out of it is hardly the most heinous crime. I hope he goes to prison and has an awakening of why what he did was wrong. Prison is flawed in many ways, but he wouldn't be the first hothead to finally understand why he was so full of hate and change his life.

Being raped or otherwise assaulted isn't going to help him on that road. That's not being a snowflake.
