Milk's impact on the planet dairy, soya, rice, oat and almond compared

Please apologise to TruXta for making a deliberate attempt to smear them because you were called out for being a hypocrite.
What? Answer the question directed at you please and stop trying to divert the discussion. Or if you have no evidence of 'cruelty' in the almond trade, admit you made it up.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear you start these threads for no other reason than to cause an argument.
Why don't you answer the question? You claimed that was human 'cruelty' in the almond milk trade. Can you produce some evidence of this please?

There's cruelty in every trade that involves underpaid workers being exploited in order to make someone very rich. I can't help you if you don't know the definition of cruelty.

So you have no actual evidence of human cruelty in the almond milk industry? Great. Now we can move on.

However, there's plenty of hard evidence of animal cruelty in the dairy industry. Awful, terrible, unnatural cruelty.

Of course the real wtf in all of Ed's posts on this thread is back on page 2, where he says he's not trying to persuade anyone. :D

And this is coming from someone who agrees with the point that the OP was making

How is pointing out the cruelty in the dairy industry trying to persuade someone? But yes, lets keep it personal rather than argue the issues.

But it seems you don't want to discuss anything. It's quite apparent from your replies on this thread that all you seem to want to do is sit on your throne of superiority with your fingers in your ears.

Not sure about human cruelty, but it's old news that the almond industry is a huge factor in destroying Californian ecosystems. California being the producer of 80% of all almonds consumed worldwide.

And here we're back to the systems problem. Wholesale abandoning of other crops in favour of massive almond farms because that's where the biggest short- to medium-term profit is. Long-term such drought unresistant crops may fail, but who cares about the long term? Capital doesn't.

It's worse than that, as the big $$$ producers are openly admitting that they see drought as a political problem rather than an ecological one.

And capital certainly doesn't give much of a fuck about animal welfare, natural practices or cruelty. But then neither do a lot of people.
