Longest court cases for silly stuff

Rob Ray

Weight is meaningless
Not sure if this is current affairs material, but the Belgrade Six have just been cleared of "international terrorism" charges after eight years in court, which seems like an incredibly long time for what was basically a case of vandalism (they were accused of chucking a couple of molotovs at the wall of the Greek embassy and scrawling a circled A on it).

So I was wondering what other ridiculously long cases for ridiculously small issues are knocking about? Mclibel came to mind but any particularly interesting ones past that?
