This is real crackpot stuff

I think it's because you can say it like "Shut the f..." and it sounds like you're going to say something else.
Ok....
I thought the 'horse lyricked Dauntless Elite song was ace. The name rang a bell but I couldn't really place them...

song was ace, hadn't heard it or the band before, and that the vocals sounded like Milloy from Wakefield.

The link you posted shared a label with The Lief Ericsson, who I do remember...

"In February 2003 Crackle Records and Hermit Records jointly released the Milloy / The Leif Ericsson split CD/10" containing 4 songs from each band. Darrel then departed and the band was a 3 piece for a while before Liam's departure some months later. Unable to find a drummer with the required clout, Neil moved from bass to drums and Mark Collins (Spy versus Spy) joined on bass. The band played a handful of gigs with this lineup before Mark's brother Dave was asked to play second guitar."

Ace

remember when Johnson was twatting on about painting buses?

he done that to knock the side of the bus nonsense "XXX million quid the NHS will get" after Brexit off the google search results...is the theory, anyway. can perfectly see one of his Media wonks suggesting this.

Yeah, I was just enjoying being reminded of how much I liked the Dauntless Elite, Graft is a proper mint album imo. Apparently some of them were in Joe Ninety and Fig 4.0, if that's any help?

I am impressed by and in awe of your Leeds minor band internal lyric encyclopedia 💖

Do we know each other from the outernet, do you think, hitmouse ? :hmm:

Edit'. Tell me where to send my mistaken identity bet fiver

I never actually lived in Leeds, was just a semi-frequent visitor at times, so I don't think so. For what it's worth, I do remember another Leeds punk band that had Motorhead-style t-shirts with the slogan "No Sleep 'til the Fenton", but I think that's the limit of my Leeds-pubs-memorialised-by-2000s-punk-bands knowledge.

I was recently told a story of someone's first horse visit to a punk gig as a teen
Apparently the Manchester Crusties had a banner, someone just randomly stick their finger in his pint for ages, and other ridiculous.
He thought at first it was what all punk gigs there were like :D

It's a very special place.

Oh gosh that ^ just popped up at me on the instaweb thing :)

Massive respect and trust for Gill and her interpretations if the world x

It's a shame about Icke because he is a good collector of information, however I cannot jive with the reptiles etc.
I have known about him since 1997 and the world has become more Orwellian. More surveillance etc, maybe we will be cashless like he said in a few years, I cant say at this stage though, it remains to be seen.
isn't 1997 when Icke had prophesised the world would end?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, I am not saying the moon landings are fake, I haven't read the full article, and I didnt watch the channel 5 documentary that has been said to anger lots of people last night.
Ta
great article

I tend to use sarcasm with a laddle, this article is using it with a water cannon

You are not saying the moon landings are fake.
You haven't read the article you are sharing.
You didn't watch the documentary either.

You are not sorry for resurrecting this thread Pete.

Its a decent article, no reason not to read it . I'm on the not fake side by the way and i think anyone who thinks they faked the moon landings are sad dribblers of nonsense
Fair enough, maybe it's one of those never ending debates :)

 Now I know that is a lie because I know for a fact that a bus load of Princess Diana's live there, NASA have to arrange to have the bus serviced annually.
don't forget that Keith chegwin is the lunar chauffeur

You are not telling me what I am thinking. You are not alluding to me being a liar.
I didn't read the whole article but guardian is a decent paper.
I don't know if they were fake or not, many people don't.
I never watched the doc

What, it gave you a subscription or registration option? The guardian isn't paywalled or members only - they're just pestering and guilting you into donating cash in gratitude for their writing. Close the pop up and you can read the whole thing easy.

Thanks, I will do. brb.

I really trust Dean Burnett, he explains well and mischievously
Don't take it all at face value :)

"There are actually only four known elements, "Earth", "Wind", "Fire" and "September". Nuclear power is actually the name given for when there is a higher density of fire in one place than normal."

"It was discovered long ago that all diseases were actually spread by the Dodo. Upon this realisation, scientists decided to initiate a brutal extermination campaign, which lead to their apparent extinction. However, racked by guilt over their actions, the science community concocted the whole vaccine story to explain why people weren't getting so sick anymore, and have persevered with it to this day.

Dodos actually still exist, but in real life they closely resemble pigeons. The story about them being extinct was made up to prevent panic, and the image of the dodo as a large bemused chicken is based on a model created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, commissioned to back up the story."

:D
