Living off the land 100%

The Urban 75 Rambo isn't going all First Blood in the jungles of 'nam - he is on a sedate walking and tasting tour of gently undulating Mateus Rose country.Surely he will have an EHIC card and will be within staggering distance of some form of health care facility. I cam imagine its pretty hard to go that much off piste in Portugal.

Surely....

yeh. we all know that the one certain thing about stan's adventures is they never go as planned. if you can describe an elongated pub crawl as an adventure. his declared intent to steal chickens etc may well end in dog-bites or sustaining other easily foreseeable injuries. it makes sense, therefore, to offer him a source which ought to outline treatment for his wounds.

I'm starting to think the picking on Stan is a bit unfair in its high level of intensity. Tantamount to bullying. I'm as guilty as others before that's pointed out.

Then I think fuck it. He's been here long enough to know what flack he is going to get and keeps coming back whether through vanity or some other reason.

I keep coming back despite knowing what flack I'm going to get.

What I don't like though is the dragging up of personally history to throw in his face. My Personal opinion is always that each thread should be judged on its own merits.

If you want people to change give them the chance. But anything in a thread itself is fair game.

how many years do you suggest stan needs for him to change? does he in fact desire to change?

Is that relevant?
Us giving the chance is the important bit as it makes us better people even if the opportunity to become a better person is continually refused.

Would you turn down an addict's 14th rehab attempt under the assumption they'll never change or hope that they'll crack it this time despite your doubts.

on my way to school, there was a gaff with a Yorkshire terrier, that used to go mad if you rattled the gate to its house as you passed. within a few weeks, several dozen children with basin haircuts were rattling the gate as they went to and left school each day. I am sure the Yorkie used to look forward to the rattling as much as the children did.

OK, maybe not 100% looking forward to it , but I am sure it added something to his day. probably.maybe. possibly. potentially.

You do realise the thread is going exactly as Stan wants it to, right?

He's an attention seeker, and he doesn't care how he gets his fix, so he makes shit up to get a reaction from people, and he really doesn't care if it's a good or bad reaction, so long as he gets a reaction.

librarians don't get the opportunity to turn people down for rehab, chuck.

We're all attention seekers. Only the lurkers aren't.

Everyone wants their posts read.

Nobody hopes that there will be no response at all to their posts / threads.

Most people are happy to participate in a thread for the sake of participation. They're not looking for kudos or trying to be the centre of attention. They simply enjoy a healthy discussion/debate.
Then there's Stan. He's so narcissistic he even thinks he has the right to dictate who posts in threads he starts!
He really is the epitome of narcissism.

I'm pretty sure that's Narcissus you're thinking of, mate.
Or The Metamorphosis of Narcissus:
