Living off the land 100%

I look, and feel like an alcoholic mess.

It is cold. Haven't made any money here. I was sort of expecting that. Would really like another layer (and a couple of beers to get me through the night), but I think it is looking like I just go find a place to cook.

I'm getting very bored of this...

Some guy offered a bed in a squat. Hasn't shown up yet.

Olive oil spillage is a nightmare. Think I have to buy a new backpack, and new/second hand clothes. And, possibly a new sleeping bag. And, new pens. And, lots of other new bits and pieces. Will probably be boiling and steaming from now on.

That wasn't nice in many respects. Still have to shit every 30 minutes (just flushing water through my body. Couldn't face eating anything more than a couple of peaches for the last 48 hours, or so). Weather went from unseasonably fresh to exceptionally fucking hot in no time. Got caught hiking in the sun, but I made it to Setubal. Still can't say it, but I got here, and think it is a very good recovery spot if authorities leave me alone - one of those very polished, middle class family holiday resorts piping very boring, soft lounge jazz from every audiophonic orifice. Sadly, this is possibly just what I need.

Bit more on my blog. Bit boring - I am so fucking tired! Think I have seen a safe place to sleep close to a toilet kiosk thing. Always the most degrading shit in the World, but needs must. It is only 20 Cents for 20 minutes. Could be in there all night :D

Yes. It looks like I have a free bed, but have to wait for the bar to close.

Stay jealous, people.

Nothing comes for free. Not like I was born into a wealthy family, or summat. I have to work to get this sort of freedom. You have to work also probably. You probably go through lows yourself. If you don't experience the lows, where are the highs supposed to come from? My choice. Your choice. Live and let be. You give me a hard time, you might get one back if I have nothing to do, but I don't spit vile at anyone just for living a harmless life the way they want to.

Where does your problem come from?

theres something quite unique about fish from the sea or vegetables from the soil or fruit from the vine , something I can't quite put my finger on.
That's it! That's where they come from.

Collecting it yourself is very rewarding. Not just the exclusion of any transaction, just the knowing how fresh it is, where it came from... you think much more about what food actually is and how the earth works, provides, returns. All that sort of stuff. The time that goes into everything. This helps you appreciate the flavours, the nutrition, the nourishment in a very different way.

Older people here love what I am trying to do. They still cook in the street themselves during summer.

I thought I'd already made that plain enough. I think you show a consistent and predictable pattern of unpleasant, aggressive and exploitative behaviour. Many examples of it have been quoted on this thread. That is my problem.

OK. That is your opinion and justification. I will maintain that I am never a bastard without good reason.

Thanks for not cross-threading and multi-posting quotes out of context mind. You've gone up a slight level.

Collecting it is the easy part, you haven't done any of the hard work in actually growing the vegetables. So stop waxing lyrical about wonderful it is to forage your own beets (grown by somebody else).

I stand corrected.

Not that it did much good. I'm nouveau poor.

Back on topic.
I find it telling that my rash but genuine offer to get him out of there if everything got too much, which still stands BTW, got no mention. Not because I was or am virtue signalling (maybe a little... but doing a good thing for a bad reason is theologically a toughy) or angling for gratitude: being told to fuck off and leave him be because he's actually alright would be fine.

It just didn't seem to get noticed one way or another. I'd be noticing the same if anybody else had come up with the same offer.

In fact, he doesn't really address much of what goes on on this thread between his communiques. A bit of a dig about people who google, true. Which is ironic in my case because I do collect snails and fungi (and figs, walnuts, hazelnuts so on) and on this occasion do know what I'm talking about: I live in a small town and it's something people do around here. I'm a fuck sight better forager than Stan seems to be.

I really wouldn't like to definitively analyse why he doesn't really dialogue on 'his' thread. There may be difficulties with the tech, who can say? But a working hypothesis might be that the thing would be less about him if he actually engaged with the participants on the thread.

I think it's enough for his self-esteem that he's being discussed and debated. So I'm happy to help.

I'm guessing that his next pronouncement will be just as removed from the proceedings of the thread as ever.

And it's also telling that I'm using the third person. It's as if I think he's not going to read this.
Much as I suspected.

Er yes you do spit vile. At everyone here, on the specious grounds of jealousy. I can state categorically I have never been jealous of anyone whose lifestyle results in mouldy genitalia.
