Alfred Adler (well, probably more his follower Rudolf Dreikurs) says "look for the purpose in the child's misbehaviour". I suspect that the purpose of Stan's misbehaviour here is attention, pure and simple. He doesn't feel like he'd get it by behaving, so he sets out to get it by behaving badly.

Where a young woman turned him down so he painted an explicit picture of her to display in the town square so her parents would see it, then he walked to her house several miles away and her father had to tell Stan to leave. That stalking behaviour.

I find it telling that my rash but genuine offer to get him out of there if everything got too much, which still stands BTW, got no mention. Not because I was or am virtue signalling (maybe a little... but doing a good thing for a bad reason is theologically a toughy) or angling for gratitude: being told to fuck off and leave him be because he's actually alright would be fine.
It just didn't seem to get noticed one way or another. I'd be noticing the same if anybody else had come up with the same offer.
In fact, he doesn't really address much of what goes on on this thread between his communiques. A bit of a dig about people who google, true. Which is ironic in my case because I do collect snails and fungi (and figs, walnuts, hazelnuts so on) and on this occasion do know what I'm talking about: I live in a small town and it's something people do around here. I'm a fuck sight better forager than Stan seems to be.
I really wouldn't like to definitively analyse why he doesn't really dialogue on 'his' thread. There may be difficulties with the tech, who can say? But a working hypothesis might be that the thing would be less about him if he actually engaged with the participants on the thread.
I think it's enough for his self-esteem that he's being discussed and debated. So I'm happy to help.
I'm guessing that his next pronouncement will be just as removed from the proceedings of the thread as ever.
And it's also telling that I'm using the third person. It's as if I think he's not going to read this.

You're spot on about my choices. I enjoy a freedom that is priceless. I am in no way unhygienic - probably cleaner than you in many ways.

I am sitting in a bar in a beautiful town enjoying the Sunday evening atmosphere of a gentle praca. Plenty of good company to enjoy also. Sunday is quiet even in August. Plenty of affordable beds. That is affordable at €35/night in a country where most only take home €700/month. €1000 a month just for a bed and a shower just doesn't work. That said, I have managed to make €350+ over the weekend. I worked hard for it. Found a shop open today, so bought new materials.
I am not doing anything illegal. I am not robbing, or thieving. I am not dumpster diving. I am not bothering people, causing a nuisance, or anything other than offering people entertainment and art. It obviously is appreciated by the majority, if not all.
I meet many people. See many beautiful places. I have no alarm clock, no boss, no bank manager, no debt. I have many friends in every corner of Europe. Friends who value my company. The girls who bought sketches and invited me to sushi in Lisbon will always in touch. I will meet up with one of them in Madrid.
Whilst not quite 100% off the land yet, my last Three very healthy, delicious meals included just a single ingredient not collected from the land. Fruits fresh from the vine, or the tree. Vegetables from the earth. Fish straight from the sea. Everything I am eating is far more nutritional and tasty than any stuff you can buy from an organic market. It is fresh as fresh is possible to be. This is not about saving money, it is about enhancing your enjoyment of food to a new level. It takes work, but costs virtually nothing other than time and gaining knowledge. Give me just one more week, and everything I eat will be 100% from the land. I said early on that I didn't expect it to happen immediately. You were probably expecting some sort of shit survivalist bollocks. You shouldn't expect that from me - I'm out to enjoy myself. Sometimes enjoyment is 'work'. I am eating far more healthily than any other poster, or reader here. 100% certain about that.
And, whilst I am taking this adventure - enjoying the hiking and the learning curve, the lush scenery, the nature, the villages, towns and cities (not to mention gaining in fitness), I am collecting business cards, phone numbers and email addresses for future work.
You take the piss all you like, but the truth is I am living a life most only dream about.

No. Most of it is wild. Farmers, allotment keepers I talk with clumsily. They appreciate that I appreciate what they are doing. They give me a leek, or a potato, or whatever. But, most is collected from free land - stuff growing wild, or feral.
