Lampedusa boat disaster: Divers recover more bodies

Ita multiple problems

Setting up proper search and rescue survillence system doable
What to do with the migrants who are rescued politically difficult though doable
How to stop the boats much harder needs doing as massive safety problem maybe get some favored people smugglers i.e. If your competant and not murderous we wont try try to kill detain you it would be a start :(

How to stop migration due to states being lawless or tryannys or both probably realisticly impossible:(

That's precisely why any other proposed temporary solutions are just papering over the cracks - the roots of the problem go back to colonialism and slavery, or, in the case of Syria, the division of the ottoman empire after ww1. These nation States are doomed, fucked, an endless procession of murdering tyrant scum who hold the loose threads of their States together by force. And they can only do so because they have the backing, explicit or otherwise, of at least one of the USA, the Eu or Russia. They are the enablers of this situation. And every time we send charity or aid to people in countries ruled by these scum we are unwittingly protecting these tyrants from their own populations, whose urge to rise up against their leaders may be ever so slightly suppressed by the arrival of NGOs etc.

Any workable temporary solution is going to be papering over the cracks. As you go on to mention, the horse has well and truly bolted and any long term solution is likely to take generations, assuming that there was a combined will to find one at all. Perhaps a UN plan to make part of Libya itself a genuine safe haven with proper infrastructure whilst seeking more permanent political change, but that would require a massive military presence to secure, if not a full on invasion. Not a great idea but perhaps less preposterous than "the destruction of capitalism".

Wouldn't take a "massive military presence" a couple of battalions and a few warships introducing humanitarian aid and crisis relief would have certain sections of the 'international community' and more than a few on here screaming "21st century colonialism"
Yet, as imperfect as a solution as it seems I can't see anyone coming up with alternatives?

Troops on the ground from Arab, Asian, and African states, supported by European air power, pay for it all with American money, administered by Canada and Australia.

Anybody trying to seriously sort out this mess would immediately find its personnel targeted by extremists.

Fuck me, you're a thick cunt.

Why not read the thread and respond to what's actually posted rather than shit you imagine?

When he he's not making up your position for you hell just respond to something he doesn't agree with , announcing its "drivel" . One word answer . At least " your mum" would take twice the effort .

I'm going to listen to muriburiland again , just to see if I can get myself into the correct frame of mind . See were he's coming from .

Fears for migrants after boat capsizes in Mediterranean
BBC News 06/08/15
Rescuers are searching for survivors after a boat carrying as many as 600 migrants capsized in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Libya.

Officials initially feared hundreds had drowned but the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) said 400 people were rescued.

The Italian coast guard said 25 bodies have been recovered so far but it is unclear how many people are missing.

More than 2,000 migrants are said to have died in 2015 trying to cross the Mediterranean to reach Europe.
The endless toll. :(

Yes, pretty awful, I heard that the overloaded boat capsized because when the people on board saw a ship coming to rescue them they all rushed to one side of the boat to get a better look and the weight transfer tipped the boat over.
