Keith Moon Exposed As Crap Shocker

You're the only one I've seen boasting, phil. And belittling others too, which is far worse. I don't mind a bit of boasting but you've been trying to make other posters feel bad about themselves, which is pretty low.

So Ed, about that challenge.

Yes or no?
Are you a bit fucking thick or something? For the last time: I've no interest in participating in your pathetic fantasy challenge because I'm a grown up with no need to prove anything.

If people want to hear what my drumming was like, they can listen to the recordings I've posted up or listen to my album on iTunes or whatever.

If you're such a great drummer that's supposedly better than Keith Moon why not just post up a recording? It sounds like you're having some kind of mid life crisis, tbh.

I've attacked no-one without provocation. I never do. Read the thread and you'll see I'm right.

And now, let's see if you are a sycophant. What's your opinion of the Editor's behavior on this thread? (This is a test)...

Right. That'll be why you're posting up stuff you recorded 25 years ago. Because you don't need to prove anything.

You must have at least one recording of your brilliant, superior, 'better than Keith Moon' drumming, phil? Surely?

And when was the last time you played a gig?

Not playing.

However, I will say that there is such a thing as proportion. If someone has a dig at you, you amplify the hostility ten-fold in your response.

1990 or so. You?

Remember also that this row started because you responded to my criticism of Keith Moon with an irrelevant barrage of abuse, suggesting that I had no right to an opinion because I wasn't as good a drummer as you.

Well, you just happen to be wrong about that. And I can prove it. If you don't want to go that route you shouldn't have brought the subject up in the first place.

Sycophant. Seriously. Anyone can see that the Ed has behaved deplorably here. Not that I've been perfect either, but if you can't admit that, you are a sycophant I'm afraid. I didn't expect that.

There's a grain of truth in what you say here. On the other hand, Ive been outnumbered. By sycophants. So I do think I have the right to ratchet things up a bit.

Either play or don't play imo littlebabyjesus .. there are enough border police (+ a heavy duty bouncer) on here already to maintain the status quo
Here's the script ..

phil started a contentious but harmless thread
editor (a good drummer) got involved, went all precious and threw his rattle out of the pram

Uncle rory .. cutting through the dross telling it like it is

<adjusts cravat>

<nudges spectacles>

Nice bit of distortion there, but anyone who can be bothered to read through this thread will know that you're bullshitting again.

Your need to publicly boast and brag - and try and belittle others - over something you're unable to credibly back up really is rather strange.

It's even odder when you're making claims of superiority about something you clearly have little experience or no about. You criticised Keith Moon's studio ability (and declared yourself better than him), yet it seems that you've never actually recorded in a studio yourself.

To be honest, all this chest-beating suggests some kind of inferiority complex to me.

Oh, and I last drummed with a band at Christmas and last practised on a drum kit yesterday.

I've recorded in plenty of studios. I just don't have the evidence to hand, what with living 10,000 miles away from home and all.

This thread could have proceeded perfectly smoothly with a discussion of Moon (and I seem to have carried my point about him, incidentally).

But noooooo, you had to personalize it by claiming that only real drummers could voice an opinion on that matter.

As I said before, it is as if you had said: "Jane Austen is crap," and I'd responded that you had no right to say that because you'd never published anything myself.

But as it turned out, you bit off more than you could chew. And now you are suffering the indigestion.

Phil's got too many ego issues

Arf arf

here's me

here's me playing

It's the first time I've heard those two tracks for years, and have to say they don't sound too bad (we were signed to EMI Publishing and Big Cat records at the time)

We were definitely on the money for the time, but we were shafted by record company bullshit and couldn't release the album. The guitarist went on to be Chris Liberator (minor superstar DJ!).

Why not have an open night at your club .. it needn't be hostile

I've made records and understand the recording process.

here's me

I posted this elsewhere, but here's a track off an album I recorded with the Monochrome Set

I was in a load of bands at the time, and here's a rather different country-ish band with John Peel-fave, Helen McCookeryBook

Precisely.

I mean, I'd look pretty silly if I couldn't play after all this, wouldn't I? It would be a laugh. As Rory says, no hostility necessary, just friendly rivalry. And you know the place would be packed to the rafters.

Gwan gwan gwan gwan gwan.

what fucking age are youse two?

thankfully my sad attempts to hold onto my youth have only led me into buying too many slayer t shirts and necking buckfast before a night out, maybe it gets worse after 40.

Big fan of Slayer revol68
Fuck yeah

You're too young to be talking like that .. you'll turn into FridgeMagnet or the editor !! before you hit 30 if you're not careful

Uncle rory x

I thought I'd throw this in. An amazing performance from the band, with conductor Keith Moon in fine form.
