my history is I played in the Angelic Upstarts for 20 years, Blaggers ITA for 5, Long Tall Shorty for 2. I loved doing that but now I'm trying to become a proper good fingerstyle guitar player in the vein of Jerry Reid, Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, Doyle Dykes etc

I've probably seen you play more than a few times then!

I can't say I'm a particular fan of any of the bands, but good luck with your new finger picking direction!

Allegedly, the "classic" rock "fusion" band is Brand X - the Phil Collins-helmed monstrosity of seventies yore. Mind you, you could always blame those jazzers who took the template of "Bitches Brew", got it horribly wrong, and replaced heart, passion and genuine soul with "groove", "chops" and "taste". If someone had told me, thırty years ago, that one day I'd be arguıng about musıc wıth members of the Angelıc Upstarts and the Monochrome Set, I'd have been quıte ımpressed.
