I've never had a night like that. You must be confusing it with one of El Jefe's nights.

I get what you mean generally re open nights but I just thought that in the context of this thread it might be a good idea .. if phil was shit he was shit .. there seems to be plenty of musicians on these boards and who knows it could be fun ?

There's nothing fun about inflicting a deeply amateur, woefully out of practice solo drummer on an Offline crowd, even if he does think he's great. I pride myself on putting on good acts and seeing as phil can't even produce a single recording of his self-proclaimed brilliant skill, I've no inclination in indulging his ego and taking the risk. I've got a crowd to think of!

Completely different nights. Offline nights can have a mix of live bands, comedy, and all sorts of random stuff and is always free whereas PROD is usually music only with a door charge.

I'm never going to do an open mic night though because I hate them, and if I hate them, then I've no right to inflict them on people who come to my night either.

If you want to play a set at Offline, mail me a link where I can hear what you're all about and I'll try and find an appropriate bill.

If I can hear some recent demos of you performing. There's an awful lot of blaggers, bullshitters and unrestrained egos in the music business, and I've got standards - and a crowd - to consider.

You may think you're better than Keith Moon, but as a promoter, that's up to me to decide. So, these recordings...?

I managed to put on loads of gigs when I was in bands. It's not that hard really - it just takes a bit of effort, enthusiasm and imagination.

I loved doing that but now I'm trying to become a proper good fingerstyle guitar player in the vein of Jerry Reid, Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, Doyle Dykes etc
It's hard work and it might not even be a goer career wise but it's what I want to do .. hence skint artistdom !!
