July 2005 London bomb blasts: UPDATES AND NEWS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION

I knew from the outset that this was no fucking power surge - how stupid do they think we are?

Which you rather...? Shouting "Power surge" or "Bomb" in rush hour...? Think how many would have been killed by panic alone...

Do you really know that? Is it helpful to call these terorrists cunts? They may be widows of men we killed - or mothers/sisters/brothers of men we killed.

Isn;t it time we realised our own responsibilty here - we've fucked around with the Arab world for decades.

The answer is we do something about getting rid of Blair - like the Spanish did after the Madrid blasts.

fuck off.

Charles Clarke has called them terrorist attacks. so much for due process and evidence based statements.

Ripping the top off a bus with an incendiary I'd say was a terrorist attack, wouldn't you?

Just a quicky, the shooting in Canary Wharf is still yet to be confirmed. However security officals have warned them at Reuters to take precautions and to hold on that until they confirm it to avoid any chance of panic

yeah that was bullshit!! you dont get power surges and the electricity board saying there was nothing that could have caused them. how the fuck scoland yard could have known and not done anything  sorry i wont say anything more
probably intended not to cause panic, but when buses blew up independently of the tube blasts they could hardly keep pretending it was just "electricity errors"

EDIT: ( sorry, just saw the "no further discussion" plea...)

For just once. JUST ONCE could we fucking KEEP this thread from degenerating into unrelated bollocks and slanging. JUST THIS FUCKING ONCE?

I agree , dont peeps think this is more impotant that silly kids turning this into their playground of bitching

"Several" fatalities from the Edgware Road blast now confirmed by police, according to the BBC News ticker. :(

Apparently the Pope has condemned the blasts as 'inhuman.' So that's alright then.

Underground will be closed for some time. Buses might return today, airports are operating normally. (BBC)

Brighton Station is Closed, but no bombs down here, so everything is hunky dory.

Thanks Harrison, posting's going too fast at the moment - can't keep up.

Charles Clarke says only 4 explosions have been confirmed.

The confusion could be that trains were between stations, Aldgate and Liverpool st is the same incident.

I agree - common sense and tact innit...

Charles Clark: Sympathies etc, no precise details, 4 explosions confirmed now, some are between stations. Met in command. Underground closed certainly for today, maybe later. Most overground stations open, some closedm airports as normal, sever overground delays. Do not travel into central London.

undergournd to remain closed 'for some time', network rail to remain disrupted, airports operating normally according to Clarke

From another site re donating blood:

Do NOT donate blood unless asked to...

When 9/11 happened, they had a huge influx of blood, much of which wasn't needed. They then had a dip, as people can't donate blood again for (6 months?)

The end result was a lot of wasted blood, and the struggling to fulfill supply.

The blood service will make an appeal if neccesary.

Also, please don't take my post as patronising or condescending, just trying to point it out..

Well that's absolutely right. I think all the nurses will be otherwise disposed with tending to all the casualties, taking blood is not a major priority at the moment.

so fair what i know is....

Edgware Road
King's Cross
Liverpool Street

My friends in south ken report it's a controlled explosion

There are no reports of any more bombs after the ones this morning. Also, no reports of suicide bombers been shot in Canary Wharf. Posting wild rumours is not helping.
