July 2005 London bomb blasts: UPDATES AND NEWS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION

From another site re donating blood:

Do NOT donate blood unless asked to...

When 9/11 happened, they had a huge influx of blood, much of which wasn't needed. They then had a dip, as people can't donate blood again for (6 months?)

The end result was a lot of wasted blood, and the struggling to fulfill supply.

The blood service will make an appeal if neccesary.

Also, please don't take my post as patronising or condescending, just trying to point it out..

My brother works on Stephen Street, spoke to him abouit an hour ago and he's fine and says no trouble in the immediate vicinity.

I have got to say that, even though there has been a step up of security, this has been a very lame terrorist attack compared with those across the water. I have a feeling that this is not a large terrorist network, though if it is they are losing their touch slightly.

Well the whole thing about Al-qaida is that it's just a collection of (largely) independent groups, and this was probably only carried out by a dozen or so people. By people I mean completely cunts obviously.

To add re blood:

Although blood banks greatly appreciated the good will and effort of the new donors, Chambers says their donations wouldn't have helped mass casualties on Sept. 11. Instead, these people would have required blood collected in the weeks before the attacks, since blood needs time to be tested and processed.

BBC just said 'dozens' of dead, but not sure if that was a serious statemnent or just a turn of phrase

Louis, what's happening in Brighton? Family member who was heading there this morning from central London. Know she's probably fine but no response to my texts so panicking a bit. :(

So it appears according to the Israeli embassy, Scotland Yard knew about this.

The "power surge" theory seems to have been a panic limitation exercise.

yeah that was bullshit!! you dont get power surges and the electricity board saying there was nothing that could have caused them. how the fuck scoland yard could have known and not done anything  sorry i wont say anything more

Do you really know that? Is it helpful to call these terorrists cunts? They may be widows of men we killed - or mothers/sisters/brothers of men we killed.

Isn;t it time we realised our own responsibilty here - we've fucked around with the Arab world for decades.

The answer is we do something about getting rid of Blair - like the Spanish did after the Madrid blasts.

Guys 8 causualties, some critical, Royal free, 50 casualties, 10 serious, still being brought into UCH, spokesperson says casualties in UCH tens rather than 100s

All I know is the reports that the station has been shut due to a suspect package; I'll see what I can get from the local news and post back.

I knew from the outset that this was no fucking power surge - how stupid do they think we are?

Brighton Station is Closed, but no bombs down here, so everything is hunky dory.

OTHER THREAD

It's alright to then to refer to the terorrists as cunts - but I can't respond - just saying I think that unreasonable language is not going to help. That's all I want to say
