Joe Biden's time is up

It took a while, but the UAW has endorsed Biden

Donald Trump is a scab,” Fain said, prompting applause from union members. “Donald Trump is a billionaire and that is who he represents. If Donald Trump ever worked in an auto plant, he wouldn’t be a UAW member, he would be a company man trying to squeeze the American worker.”

“Donald Trump stands against everything we stand for as a union, as a society,” Fain continued. “When you go back to our core issues, wages, retirement, health care and our time, that’s what this election is about.

he's on a roll

United Auto Workers president Shawn Fain argued that the current fear-mongering around the U.S. border with Mexico is an attempt by the wealthy and political elites to divide workers.

The remarks came in a wide-ranging speech at the UAW's National Community Action Program Conference in Washington, D.C. on Monday, in which Fain repeated the union's call for a cease-fire in Gaza, confirmed plans for a 2028 general strike, and laid out a vision for a wider U.S. political movement led by the working class.

"They try to divide us nationally by nationality," Fain said. "Right now, we have millions of people being told that the biggest threat to their livelihood is migrants coming over the border. The threat we face at the border isn't from the migrants. It's from the billionaires and the politicians getting working people to point the finger at one another, when in reality, we're all on the same side of the war against the working class."

He’s not wrong.

this'll be unwelcome news to that strange coterie of leftist ideologues who seem to have time for trump.

The campaign strategy all along seems to have been wait for trump to be declared candidate and watch a majority of voters recoil. Should think the economy is helping even if early polling said Biden wasn't getting the credit.

Not sure what there is to rave about with regards economy

It's improving by various measures and reported consumer confidence returning. Obviously all a bit surface, but better than expected and offering no drum for Trump to bang. Hence his claim it's the prospect of his return buoying stocks.

The gender gap is widening.

Women 58 - 36 percent support Biden, up from December when it was 53 - 41 percent.
Men 53 - 42 percent support Trump, largely unchanged from December when it was 51 - 41 percent.

Looks like Trump's strategy of mocking the woman he raped until a jury awarded damages big enough to shut him up has not paid off with female voters

Not convinced....there are lot of economic indicators ringing alarm bells. But can't disagree stocks are currently up and by a lot more than inflation has impacted on the price of a Big Mac....However historically, crashes happen AFTER the rate cut.

All this shows us is that union leaders are on the side of the ruling class

whereas trump is not ruling class.
We all know that he is, but people like Shawn Fain want the workers to think union bureaucrats like him are on their side when they're actually just with a different part of the ruling class.

Anyway, have a nice election later this year. You are clearly very fond of capital just like Genocide Joe and his union poodle.

I guess Trump could possibly end up behind bars. But that could also possibly mean that a different republican loon replaces him and maybe becomes president.

I think Trump is one of a kind.

No one else would abuse the constitution like Trump did.

Therefore - any one but Trump.

At the end of the day I can't see any political party decreasing the serious problem of rising homelessness in the US, which has no doubt just got worse under the rule of both Trump and Biden. Just one of many problems that won't be significantly, seriously dealt with.
