How do you have your kebab?

Lamb doner is elephants leg...
Not in my book it isn't.

Elephant's leg is nasty reformed mechanically recovered meat with binders. I am talking fatty cuts of lamb seasoned and layered on top of each other. Yaprak doner:

Ooooh, I chose a bad thread to read while hungry.

I like my kebabs large, mixed lamb doner/chicken, with plenty of salad, lashings of chilli sauce, and served on chips instead of bread. A local place where I get mine also do seekh kebabs which I usually have as well.

I can still remember my first taste of a doner. Swapped a slice of pizza with Jason Chu for a slack handful of meat in the back of a taxi from Birkenhead to Heswall. That came out wrong.

Best Birkenhead kebab place was The Salman opposite the casino. Greasy as fuck. I ended using the building as a band rehearsal place after The Salman closed down.

Er

A Kebab Tasting Menu Restaurant Will Open in Covent Garden

Guests will not just eat but — seated on one of ten “luxurious, cobalt blue, leather-clad stools” be “led through” dishes from the open kitchen. An “uninhibited approach to dining” is being encouraged: “Guests will rip, tear and eat with their hands, in a ritual that pays homage to late-night kebabs,” today’s announcement said.
etc

Usually have a shoe box special. Salad on the side, a big pile of doner meat and chicken tikka(?) in the middle with mint mayo sauce and served with a 10" garlic bread. :)

Lamb shish, naan, all the salad, big fan of the pickles and cabbage, chilli sauce and garlic.

Haven't found a good one near me yet. Man, I miss Leeds. The food's so much better than Manchester :(

None of the kebab places round here do the big pickled chillies. Come to think of it, I've only seen them a couple of times in Scottish kebaberies , most places up here don't have them.

The really nice long pale green ones? Can I ask what the brand is, as I'd like to see if I can order some online. The shops near me don't go much beyond Old El Paso sliced jalapeno's in the pickled chilli stakes.
Let me check. They are medium length rather than the full kebab shop deal but do the job.

I have never eaten a kebab in the UK. But in Turkey, my favourites are:
iskender (extremely unhealthy and best only ever eaten once every five years)
pistachio
occasionally chicken shish

Better choice at UK restaurants in terms of sauces and vegetarian/vegan options.

Ordered dinner from my (Bodrum Kebab) local.

Bodrum Special
Double donner, lamb shish, lamb kofte and chicken shish with chilli sauce, salad and two pitta breads.

Delivered which is a bonus. All the elements are in foil containers so nothing is hot/cold/soggy which is how it should be.

Perfect dinner for this hot weather
