Hot upcoming gigs

Gutted to miss out on tickets for Richard Dawson at the Ivy House. Got the presale tickets email and they sold out in about 20 mins, and then the actual tickets sold out in 5 mins. Hoping to get some on the resale.

Same with Alcest at Brixton Academy. Has anyone had much luck with the waitlist thing on Dice?

I saw Tindersticks at the weekend and was really looking forward to it. I did book it at the start of the year when feeling particularly morose but I came away disappointed. They did very little of their early stuff which are the songs I love. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it though.
I saw them at Manchester. I thought they really killed the new stuff and were on top form. But yeah if you wanted the old stuff you were't really in luck. Though they did a short set with some oldies like Bear before the main set at Manchester.
Sadly I did not get as much out as I wanted as I was so knackered and dispirited from work.

Saw Nick Cave last night at Leeds Arena. Bit soulless as a venue but a very good mix of the new album and classics. Was so-so on Wild God on first hearings but its grown on me, still probably not up there best but some very good tracks on it.

dice waiting list often works - i've been lucky with Osees at Shacklewell Arms and Richard Dawson at Moth Club.

Seein him on Tuesday! How was it?
Fucking excellent. Career spanning set, the new stuff sounds even better than on the album, a great band who seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. No Stagger Lee, but you can’t have everything.

I was surprised by how decent the place was. Yeah, it’s an arena, but as arenas go it was bloody good, compact, excellent sight lines all around and only £9 a beer!

TBF it probably is ok as those type of places go but the last two times I saw the Bad Seeds was in great venues. The Perth Amphitheatre being particularly excellent

It is definitely worth seeing. Also if anyone's at a loose end in Cambridge tomorrow night, the Cindy/April Magazine tour is really good if you have any interest in shoegazey slowcore barely-there music.

Craven Faults in Salford tonight.

I unexpectedly have a spare pass at very short notice, and I hate to waste a pass.

Anyone in the Manchester area fancy coming along?

Pm me.

I’ll be driving but I’ll check as I move.

He rarely plays.

Anyone up for this?

The support act was Fohn. He's the violin player from Quade. Good stuff.

If you're into atmospheric thoughtful inner-eye soundscape stuff, check him out.

I've seen Quade live and enjoyed it. Not so much their studio stuff. But given time and experience this may improve.

Craven Faults was worth the trip. Home on empty roads with the slow-lane chain of trucks, home in time for 5:00 AM.

I was gonna go to his Bristol show but was persuaded to go to the Salford show instead. Apparently the Bristol show was technically spot on but lacking the grit and grime we had last night in Salford. So odd/cool how one man twiddling about with electronically created sound can be this organic and responsive to setting.

I learned that it takes him 3 hours to set up his rig.

USA Nails + Mums tonight .
