Have you had your [s]microchip[/s] vaccine yet?

Well I had the second Pfizer jab today. Problem might be it was only 10 days after the first one. Re reading the text it’s clear it’s meant to be the first. My nurse partner has given me untold grief.

Didn't they check that all with you before they gave you it?

Just got invited to book a vaccine appointment . Small prob is a) its in the UK B) there are no direct flights as direct flights are banned c) wouldn't want to fly at this time with the current state of covid here and the UK. I'll have to ring them up , explain and ask me to keep me on a waiting list.

Ma has got an appointment for a drive thru jab on thursday, I'm assuming they'll get to me. LIKE THEY'LL GET YOU ALL etc etc

you'd have though they'd schedule me same day but whatever.

My colleague at the hospital just got his, typically I am self isolating as of yesterday due to the ex having symptoms, so probably in a couple of weeks.
Out of self isolation yesterday so was back at the hospital but they are running out of vaccines and so I missed the boat.
Ah well, back into cohort 9 then.

My auntie and uncle have had theirs today, which I'm glad about, but my dad, who is older (78 on Saturday) and has past history of angina and COPD still hasn't even had an appointment yet :( he's going to call his GP if he hasn't heard by Monday.

Someone I know (over 75, I think) and not in the best of health, lives in an isolated part of eastern Cumbria / western Northumberland ...
Has had an invitation to book an appointment - but now says they don't have any / enough vaccine ...
[something about being moved to London ?]

Spotted a new vaccination centre on high street - part of a chemist that was double fronted, but seemed to have vacated half about 18 months ago. But now they've put in plasterboard wall in that bit so there's a kind of one way route in and out with a 3 or 4 little cubicles for vaccinations at the far end. Quite neat I thought.

So after promising the vaccine trial people I'm not clinically vulnerable and I don't work in healthcare or any other job that would see me being offered a vaccine any time soon, I've just been told they're doing vaccinations where I live (supported accommodation flats) on the 15th. I mean I'm not complaining but fucksake, timing  Will phone the trial people on Monday and see what they say.

I'm taking my gf for her jab today. She has ME/CFS plus other conditions which puts her on the highly vulnerable list and as her unofficial carer I'm wondering if I might also get the jab? I'm 56yo so not far down the list anyway and tbf, if I was to get ill my gf would be in the shit as she really can't look after herself. I also care for my 83yo mother although she could probably manage without me for a shortish period of time if I did get ill.

Had my first Astra zenica today.
Got the call a few days ago and straight in this morning, jabbed and out before my appointment time had arrived

So that’s my second first vaccination after the sino-pharm first jab in January

hopefully they can do the second before I fuck off and get stuck in the next random country (Kurdistan)

No harm in asking no? Good luck -- I'd have thought you have more than a fair chance.

Especially if you are going towards the end of the session / day. Or so I "understand" ...
Got an appointment at 3.15 at Blackburn Cathedral and the weather is awful here so I can imagine plenty of people not turning up today, especially with all the negative local news reports of long queues and people having to go home because of how cold they are, just stood waiting.

I have a strong feeling that vaccination clinics are going to be a part of life from now on.

It is likely (on evidence thus far) that this is going to be an annual event. It would make sense to try and incorporate Covid and 'flu vaccines in the same dose. I appreciate that doing this, you are effectively vaccinating the whole population against 'flu, however, the economy of volume production, plus the decreased treatment costs for the bad cases, will even thing out. About 10,000 people in Britain die from the 'flu each year. Mass vaccination would certainly reduce that number.
