I've never heard of this 'a bad reaction means you've got a good immune system' thing.

I mean it makes intuitive sense - symptoms are your immune system doing something. But I have no idea whether that stacks up scientifically - after all overactive immune systems are responsible for a vast number of diseases. Doesn't necessarily show they're functioning properly. One of the more medical people on here might know more.

I initially thought I wanted the Oxford one because it used a chimp cold virus as a vector and I would feel the effects, but it's a knackered version and it's being injected into muscle and not up the snozzle, so I'm guessing the effects will be similar ...

Had mine done this morning. I had Oxford flavour. Is that the shit one?

I made a poll, just for you. ;)

Tell us in a couple of days or so.

After this current business I'm going to be staying well away from birds and mammals ...

No human cases of rabies contracted on the French mainland have been reported since 1924. In 2008, a human case probably caused by a bat bite was reported in French Guiana. Human cases contracted outside France and diagnosed within the country have also been recorded.

:hmm:

When I was in France in 1975, I stayed with a pharmacist and I'm pretty sure he said he'd had to go and give a rabies vaccine to someone ... :hmm:

Very slick operation - all of the invitation, confirmation and reminder were by text, at the behest of my local GP

At the local hub (the PCC next to the local hospital) well organised.
But not busy [although it was much more "crowded" when the other three had their first jabs on Sunday (14th)]
In and out in a few minutes (actually about 5 minutes early).
Barely felt a thing - something to do with a long needle ...
Oxford Astra-Zeneca and a record card for 12 weeks time - again this will be organised by my local GP.

I feel honoured.

The doc told me she had an arm reaction immediately that lasted a couple of days, and that she got very tired very quickly.
I have a super low immune system, but I don't know if this means the vaccine might affect me a little worse. So far so good though.

What reasons?
Dying within 5 years, never having children again and a very
odd one, that the vaccine has a microchip in it to monitor my movement.

So, after all that, I've just had the jab today fell a bit sicky but that's it, fell really relived
after going through all these months playing on my mental health a massive
relief and a big positive.

Glad you went for it.

But, TBH, you're a bit of a cunt for posting all that empty space, do the right thing & edit that post.

I see bro' Rogan has apparently just come out with that crap.
He apparently is "healthy" and does't need it anyway...

The side effects definitely seem to be more common in people who've also had the disease itself. Had a phone appt with my rheumatologist the other day, and she said she'd had the same symptoms as me when she had her vaccination, and she'd also had covid.

So my GF, who had covid at the same time as me, has her jab booked in due to being frontline social care staff. Very good online booking system, I have to say - she was able to book in for her second jab too, whereas I have to wait to be contacted about mine (and I might not get it; the side effects were pretty worrying). She's going to stay at mine that evening JIC she gets a bad reaction too.

My 18yo son got offered the vaccine by our GP practice today  (he is a very fit 18yo with not a single thing wrong with him).

Maybe it's because he lives with you? Getting him vaccinated would seem to be a very very good idea even if he's not there all the time. It'd mean he could bring you stuff while you're having your op.

(B's too young for the jab obvs).

Germany has endemic rabies, we gave the vaccine to anyone bitten by wildlife on exercise. The oddest one was a guy bitten by a squirrel.
