George Osborne wriggles out of £1.6m taxes - make him pay here

Amazing that those same concerns about passing info on don't extend your pet lib-dem vote yes to AV site. In fact, you played down and dismissed those concerns when i highlighted them for you. And that was for a much more invasive privacy policy. You two faced freak. Have some principles beyond self interest.

I have realised that both the Yes to Fairer Votes and 38 Degrees are using the same type of web tool (which is a propriety one). Looking at it they are pretty much the same privacy statement, as such I think I was wrong to play down the privacy fears regarding Yes to Fairer Votes when you raised it previously.

I was too quick to defend it becuase I agreed with the campaigns stated aims.

Not only is Osborne a tax avoider Cameron is also a Housing benefit scrounger.

David Cameron believes that housing claims of over £20,000 a year are unfair. He has a point. I can think of one benefits scrounger who has repeatedly claimed more than this, despite having a perfectly adequate home in London.

David Cameron Second Home Expenses:
2003-04: £20,328,
2004-05: £20,902;
2005-06: £21,293.86;
2006-07: £20,563.

thats a legitimate criticism (I read an article saying the same about avaaz) but given the lib dems' past enthusiasm for such groups, criticising them on the one occasion theyre doing good for not being radical enough doesnt really look credible coming from you.

For once I’m not being partisan, this is about the methodology of political campaigning. We both have experience of political campaigning. You must know as I do that part of the process of building a campaign is to create your own communication structure with your supporters. I worry that 38 Degrees is quite dominant in this regard and that it actually prevents campaigns from building their own direct support base and being effective.

I would be very wary if I was building a campaign to put another organisation in charge of my communication method. What happened if for some reason 38 Degrees got shut-down or threatened with legal action over an issue, what would happen then? How much control would you have?

Yesterday I emailed my MP, by myself, nothing to do with 38 degrees. I might also get involved in demonstrating against cuts or for other issues, again, 38 degrees have no say in whether I do this or not. I guess their monopoly is broken now then?

I use the term monopoly broadly, of course as your self-motivated actions demostrate they do not have complete control.

funnily enough i was reading an article with similar criticisms about avaaz last night. ill dig it out later. I dont, however, think that it stops campaigns from building a direct support base (organisations like the PSC, League Against Cruel Sports, etc, can do that themselves) because it simply isnt that big and people in activist cricles arent likely to use only that as a structure to rely on, and i wonder about your exact motivations for posting your criticisms here and at *this* time.

I'd never even heard of them until last week. I've never seen them or anyone involved wikth them at any meeting i've ever been to.

Their monopoly over ‘activism’
HOW the jimmy fuck can ANY organisation have a 'monopoly' over activism??
That's just bloody barking!
e2a; apols stupid kid (and BA) got there first, but to imply that 33degreesnorth even want a stranglehold is libdem smearing, pure & simple.

...as for activism, well it seems they're just a PR centred petition and email your MP machine. Not sure they mean anything, i'll certainly not be going anywhere near them though.

froggy's unlike you in 2 ways
1) she's got principles - yours have clearly died long ago
2) sher's no tory - you, in effect, are, for all you wave the libdem figleaf. Now run along and have a sherry with your bullingdon chums

unless you know FW in a real life setting, you can't claim to know her, or her principles. she's already admitted she's a tory and with
the 5.1% swing from labour to conservatives in the last election, it isn't too hard to take her at her word (despite protestations to the contrary)

Given my partisan posting on a number of subjects it's reasonable that you might be suspicious of my intentions. I make this point though without any hat on because I’m quite passionate about people being able to campaign on things effectively. I had a similar issue with the Number 10 Petition website. I agree that Osborne should dodge taxes BTW.

I would be interested in the articule if you could dig it out, thanks.

I was just speaking generally, they are seeking to expang and build big email lists. I suspect you will be hearing a lot more of them soon, they are big in the US.

well, you gt three out of four letters right, and only two of them in the wrong order. proof that the lib dems shouldnt be writen off

this coming from someone whose whole vocabulary, revolves around 4 letter words.

cheers mate

No he doesn't. Are you one of these people who believes swearing is a sign of lesser intelligence. In which case, which political party was it again who described someone as a "greasy haired twat"?

it's a sign of something, though intelligence isn't one of them.

er,. no, judging by YOUR post, you've been called talking shit, yet again, and are bottling out of substantiating the utter bullshit you're talking, and trying to cover your cowardice with insults so pathetic and childish my 7-year-old-nieced would regard as beneath her. Typical tory.
so - that link, please?
(To all others - couldn't let that blatant smear by the tory stand. apols. <leaves thread for now>)

I'm sure a certain Mebyon Kernow candidate who was the recipient of such insult - in an election leaflet no less! would agree with you there.

maybe i've got you and butchers wrong. i thought you were hard of thinking, but maybe that should include reading as well.

You didnt actually understand what I posted, (on either occasion) did you.

hasn't it struck you as odd that frogwoman hasn't defended herself from this claim of mine?

let me make a suggestion. why don't you go and PM her and let her confirm the accusation. when she does, why don't you
grow a pair and post an apology.

how does that grab yer?

it was on the "lib dems are shit" thread when you were accusing everyone who disagreed with you as being tories, i said i was a tory.
