General Election in your area.

geminisnake

a complex mass of conflicting ideas
I live in Angus and have had loads of stuff from the Tories, a couple of pieces from SNP and a general leaflet from the Lib Dems. That is IT!!

I didn't even know who the candidates were til I looked them up last night, aparrently we have the main 4 and a UKIP twat standing.

We went to Dundee today(17 miles away) and we have seen a couple of posters/billboards but that is IT again. WTF???

It's like none of the parties are even trying cept the Tories so I was wondering what's it been like in your area??

I also noticed that the boundary for Dundee East is 7 miles away from my house. WTF??? Carnoustie IS NOT IN DUNDEE you cheating Labour WANKERS :mad:

I have had no literature, and not been canvassed. We were affected by the boundary changes, and I think our PPC's haven't realised! Because of the constituency change I know next to nothing about any of the candidates, so voted nationally.

Canvassed at home once, local labour party, who made it very clear they didn't support the government, leaflets from lib dems, labour ,greens and the Communist party.

Only got leaflets from labour and SNP. No canvasing at all.

SNP have a 3.3% majority over the conservatives from last time. Labour got just over half the votes the SNP did, and the Lib Dems even less.

Only new candiate this time is a UKIP guy.

You should be in West are you not tar? Goes off to check map again.

Dundee W is Labour <spits> East is SNP. Are you getting confuddled with who won for Holyrood?

Goes off to check another map coz it has better statistics :D % and stuff.

I had to queue to vote at my polling station. never had to do that before, and I've heard that other Hackney polling stations were a lot busier than before, maybe a high turnout?

I have had loads of stuff because my seat is very marginal indeed (400 votes between Labour - winners - and Lib Dems last time, Tories targeting it hard too) - I've had some kind of election crap through the door every day for a fortnight  and there have been 'personal appearances' from various party bigwigs on my high street.

I have used the same polling station for 13yrs, and have NEVER had to wait behind another living soul to collect my ballot, and wait for a booth to vote before this evening.

Therefore, in the light of this entirely unscientific research, I can confidently say there is a higher turnout than usual at this election. :D

there were 4 booths and I was behind about 10 people when I got there (at about 5.45) and there were another 10 or so people behind me when I left. I've been voting at the same place or 13 years too.

so I agree with your conclusions
