Galloway's Workers' Party of Britain

Not the first time Galloway has agreed with Farage IIRC. They're two cheeks of the same arse.
Starmer being in agreement with Sunak and Davey on so much as well though.

All shouting loudly recently that a prospective MP should not hold views other than full throated uncritical support for Ukraine.

Hopefully both will remain seatless and left to Mr Sheen one another's bruised egos on some obscure podcast or shouty talk radio station after 4 July.

Another defeat for Farage and he really will be the Dover Athletic of British politics: 8 defeats in a row and no win in sight. LLLLLLLL

Had a brief moment considering voting WPB but their whole "gay isn't normal" bullshit and sucking up to the Muslim rent-a-mob is too far for me, too socially conservative. Plus there's Chris Williamson who gives me the ick with his betrayal of the Syrian Revolution. So nah.

Is that the Jody McIntyre from the 2010 student protests?
Blimey, looks like it is, well-remembered. Mentioned on another thread but they've got Tosh McDonald running for them as well, probably the first time I've seen a Workers' Party candidate with some kind of workers' movement background.

I'd take that over full-throated uncritical support for Putin.

yes but when did the fedora cease to be a cool if a bit anachronistic piece of headwear into being the mark of the cunt, 4channer, milady etc.

Do you reckon they'll do anything about it? I'm not sure if he's said anything that's not totally on-brand for WPB messaging.
Yep, this. The Galloway army is a rag tag of social conservative and weirdos, along with no doubt some decent people desperate to find a home that isn't Starmer-Sunakist. But increasingly, social conservative. The Venn diagram with Reflux also firms up.

IIRC there was a pick up artist with a bit of an online following in the late 00s or early 10s or something who explicitly recommended wearing a fedora to give yourself an air of mystery or something, which led to a period of a lot of weird guys wearing fedoras bothering women.

I might have details wrong and I can't remember the guys name but I think it was something like that
Edit- full details here How the Fedora Became the Tell-Tale Sign of Douchebags Everywhere

Anything that might be perceived as “cool if a bit anachronistic” turns out to mark cunts, from penny farthings and watch chains to 8-bit arcade machines and extremist politics.

I have always wondered about those people who get featured sometimes in the media who live a Victorian / 1940s / 1970s themed life, with appropriate clothing, furniture etc, whether that extends to their politics too

'I wear flares and want to refight the Cod Wars!'

And after the WPB gets nowhere in the election, Galloway can even quote Big Mal with his famous "A lot of hard work went into this defeat" quote
I was about to say, I can't imagine Galloway quoting the iconic fedora-wearing Big Mal any time soon:

Or is that a trilby?

Trilby, a hat that was once fairly standard in Italy. Fedoras have a wider brim.

And yes, Errico is the real Big Mal, not some cigar smoking Citeh manager of yesteryear.
