I did a search for this on here before I wrote it and didn't find anythig, so I thought I'd post it as some people may find it interesting

I was recently told by retired senior Met police officer that G4S part of Allied Universal (a private security company) have access to the the Police National Computer (PNC). While this is "read only" access I am very surprised this isn't more widely known. He told me this has been going on for years and as far as he was aware, any G4S security gaurd can call up their office and get information on an individual. The last thing he said on the subject was "it sounds to me like a massive fuck up waiting to happen".

I did a quick search and found that apparently it is true (link look under Non-police organisations which have restricted access to the PNC)

While searching I came across a post on Reddit from someone who I thought sounded like a cop, iinteresting reading if its true.

They do but it's hardly a secret that's just been uncovered. Lots of organisations have some access to the PNC including the DWP, the NHS and the Charity Commission.
