Does anyone else have no players from the team they actually support in their squad? :(

Wait, actually, Harper is my reserve 'keeper, but I may well change that - it's a question of will all the saves he has to make as a result of our leaky defence make up for all the goals he concedes as a result of our leaky defence :confused:

I also appear to have managed to pick up 3 Spurs midfielders, which will please my mum, if not me.

e2a: I'm now also in the H2H, although I still don't really understand how it works :oops:
 
It's simple - each week you play another team in your league and get 3 points for a win (most points that week), 1 for a draw etc, exactly the same way as if you were real teams in a real league rather than just a massive league going on your total points score.
 
Yeah, I got that much (sort of...), I just, I dunno, thought there were more complications to it.

Fuck it, it's not like it's going to change my selection process! It's the Carling Cup to the main league's Premiership for me :cool:
 
Fair enough, I'm pretty new to the whole thing.

I think I've almost got a team I'm vaguely satisfied with (even though I've had to concede personal preferences to pragmatism), I just need to find a low-price defender who won't ship goals in the first few games of the season.
 
I'm in both. Only one space left in the H2H now.

If someone else really wants to be in it when all the space is gone, I don't mind coming out.

I'm a Charlton fan, this always happens. I guess I have Parker and Bent though...
 
Head to head league is now full with 36 teams. May the best team win!

With regards picking players from the team you support, it's interesting to compare the performance of the leagues of different supporters. You can spot when a team's having a bad season as lots of their supporters have bought their players and are suffering for it.

I'm in the worrying position of starting to pick Everton players for my Fantasy team. I usually try not to as it only leads to double disappointment, but our strong pre-season is making me optimistic!
 
Not picking my own players is one thing, but I feel even worse that I've got a couple of Chelsea players in there :( I keep telling myself it's only for a short time...

Been trying to keep an eye on the transfer rumours, where certain players end up could change how good a prospect they are :hmm:

Good point. The one player I won't buy is Liverpool's criminal captain. I had Milner on the basis that he would be going to Man City, but not sure now.

I am Charlton too :) and I always used to try and populate my team with ex-Charlton players. 1 year I think I managed about 9. Not bothering this year, based on the fact I have always done so badly in the past.
 
Damn this ones full, i'm playing in another league though.

I have no hammers in my team. was tempted with behrami but he may well be off in a couple of weeks so no real point. Lots of players i like in our team but if memory serves its best to go with obvious stats like people who will keep clean sheets and score lots rather then people who have good passing % or tackle lots. Also with new manager coming in its a job to know who he will play week in and week out.

damn me and my lazy ways - Hackney Angels failed to make the H2H league - we are in t'other one though.

I've got Hernandez and Tevez up front. Anyone know if Hernandez is likely to be first choice for lord ferg? haven't read much of the football press of late.. will he go with berba instead?

Damn..after your harassment on Saturday night I thought I'd have a look at this yesterday but the league is full. Ah well, next season. Unless we can get 36 for a second division.

I doubt henandez will play anything like every game, rooney up front with valencia and nani off him is an option as is herdnandez occupying one of those places & then berbatov comes into it if playing 442. Tevez is risky as well in my opinion, God knows what man city will do, they have a fair few strikers.
 
Fuck it, Giovani Dos Santos might be going out on loan to Galatasaray :mad: I thought after his World Cup showing (he was in my FF team then, too) 'Arry might give him a chance and he'd be a good bit of cheap business :facepalm:

Also have Tevez and Hernandez :oops:

e2a: wait, no, don't have Tevez any more, forgot I swapped him out :oops: :D

futher e2a: now it seems Dos Santos might be staying; Spurs are making all the "great World Cup, could be very valuable to us" noises, but isn't that what a club always does? Who'd be a fucking manager, eh?
