After a poor start I'm so, so tempted but I think I'll just take another 4 pt hit (my Bent master stroke gamble didn't cover itself last week though), get things into shape. Are you wild-carding with an eye to making some dosh before GW4 starts, packing your team with bandwagon players then switching to your real line-up on Saturday morning, reaping the price rises?
Fuck knows why so many people are buying before the international injury fest.

I don't think what you're suggesting is possible! Sounds like taking a put option on the value of a player rising. Actually I'm surprised there isn't a game based on playing the market of fantasy player values.
I did the wild thing cos I think player values are going up due to people wildcarding post transfer window. So I decided it was better to do it now and risk ending up with injured players rather than wait and not be able to afford them later. It may go horribly wrong.
To wildcard or not to wildcard, that is the question.
Whether tis nobler in the mind to wait until after the international break,
And suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous price rises.
Or cast oneself upon the rumbling bandwagon and play the wild card,

Of course it is! your WC remains in play until the GW starts. In that time you can make as many transfers in / out as you want, and within that time values of some players will rise (to the max of 0.3, or fall by -0.3) e.g. Giroud, up by .2. You can cash in by switching to the players you're really after in the last hour or two. There's a sell on fee which reduces the amount you make, but it's still worthwhile.

Good luck... I've also WC'd, and seems like many others have too. Never done it this early before! I reckon we'll see plenty of price rises / falls before the deadline this week...

Yeah the problem with my tinkering post WC is what you said about getting half the price rise. So if I sold someone and regret it , I now can't buy the bugger back!
Eg, I was being all trendy and bought Lamela and I now read he may well not start. Hmm.

I ummed and erred and Ozilled and de-Ozilled. I didn't in the end, but I have left myself with some options if he becomes avaliable. Far happier with my team now even if they don't do well today. The balance is there in the right places, like a perfectly formed rock-chick at a 'concert' with Europe as support act.

I just had a mental half hour before deadline. Had two FTs during the week, played them... then got thinking (stoned ()... and have now just tried a 12-point hit gamble on 3 more transfers.
Out: Koscielny, JWP and Ben Tecchie
In: Shaw, Michu and Lukaku.
Never done anything bigger than a -4 before, but surely if the maths are with you it works? Those three won't deliver at all, these three I expect to deliver, so it evens out. That plus the other FTs I played look give me 5 that look a good balance in terms of fixtures for a few weeks, so it should pay off.
Shaw should get a clean sheet, Swansea Arse could be a goal-a-thon with Michu involved, and Lukaku's gotta score. Am looking for two out of those three to come off today.

Yeah I don't think it's a bad idea at all if the fixtures are right. Shaw got 7 to Koscielny's 2, Michu 2 (bah) but still beat JWP's 1, and so long as Lukaku comes on he'll beat Tecchie's zero... I've had had to play all of the transferred players, so hopefully nowt lost - I need 3 points from Lukaku to at least break even and have a better team going ahead.
