F1 2020

Points for both the Alfa Romeos. Good result.

I wonder if K-Mag wishes he'd stayed out. Points possible after that safety car? Where would Grosjean have finished without that 5 sec penalty.

Max will have more say than is being letting on might be Hulk

Dutch speaking team mate and a clear number 2 driver

plus he almost subbed for Albion at Nuremburg

He’s pretty fast though isn’t he? Would he bring the challenge to Max?

Or is he just a top end journeyman? I guess if he was that quick he’d have a seat of some description but with the prism of pay drivers it is all a bit opaque.

With Honda leaving, Aston Martin sponsorship going. I'm guessing the money Perez brings in, in sponsorship, may be more appealing from a business sense, plus they need someone consistent in terms of prize money.

giving the seat to a non pay driver is sadly something to applauded in todays F1

and unlike Perez, Hulk as never been give the equipment to take the next step up in the standings

but who can challenge max is a team that is set up in his favour

bottas is a fine driver but look at this record against ham

also Hulk has bottled podiums in the past

also to add both alex and vettel are struggling in there respective teams as they are dealing with a car with rear instability

but its a set up both number one drivers in the teams tend to favour

This was under Bottas's car

A large chunk of the front wing endplate that had fallen from Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari following a clash with Haas’ Kevin Magnussen. Mercedes removed the debris at Bottas’ second stop, which came during the Safety Car period caused by Verstappen’s exit, and communicated the above photo to show the size of the piece.

The driver situation
With Alfa Romeo keeping both their drivers it looks like there will only be one place on the grid in 2021 for a Ferrari junior driver, odds are that driver will be Mick Schumacher and he is likely to go to Haas. He currently leads the F2 championship but could still be beaten in the last two races, Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman who were also in line for the 2nd Haas seat or an Alfa Romeo seat, but the Alfa seat is now taken and Guenther Steiner has said that he doesn't think having 2 rookies in the team would be good for Haas. There is another rookie in the picture who has a lot of money to bring to any team he goes too and that is Nikita Mazepin, but the smart money appears to be on Sergio Perez or Nico Hulkenberg to get the 2nd Haas seat, I think for sure one of those two will get the Albon seat at Red Bull.

Who will get Kvyat's seat? It seems he is out at Alpha Tauri from what Helmut Marko said to sky Germany yesterday, asked if Kvyat's 4th place finished would help him retain his seat Marko gave a one word answer "no", but my guess is that Kvyat's seat would go to Albon or the young Honda driver Yuki Tsunoda. Red Bull need to be on the good side of Honda as they are wanting to use their power-unit after 2021, so Honda has some leverage to get their young driver a seat at Alpha Tauri.

hmm is he trying to push up the money Merc are going to pay him

if he does not sign a deal soon he end up falling within the driver wages cap that comes in next year

:hmm:
