he was full of that shite before the incident thoughI imagine it's just one of many responses a person suffering from PTSD might come out with. Gosh knows how any of us might react after such an horrific event.
I can't disagree with him on this one though.i always enjoy your insightful analysis. on the rare occasions you post it.

having read the article i concur: universal gun ownership a recipe for disaster. how many playground deaths before children prevented ready access to pistols and assault rifles?I can't disagree with him on this one though.
Giving kids access to pistols and assault rifles is a stupid idea.having read the article i concur: universal gun ownership a recipe for disaster. how many playground deaths before children prevented ready access to pistols and assault rifles?
perhaps .22 dumdums.Giving kids access to pistols and assault rifles is a stupid idea.
Generally the weapons are going to be too heavy to handle and if you arm them with more manageable, smaller calibre guns, they're unlikely to have the stopping power required for a full on playground fire fight.
What's needed is a kiddie sized pistol chambered in .45 acp, that can be easily carried in a satchel. I reckon reducing the magazine to 4 or 5 rounds would be a good start.

surely there are more than two sides in afghanistan.Child soldiers in Africa (and in Afghanistan, on both sides) seem to manage OK.
Segmentary, my dear Watson.surely there are more than two sides in afghanistan.
Not a bad option for a short range altercation or a classroom shoot-up, but would probably lack the range needed for an outdoor engagement on the sports field.perhaps .22 dumdums.
Yeah but they're usually at least 10 years old.Child soldiers in Africa (and in Afghanistan, on both sides) seem to manage OK.
the older pupils could use a .50 barrett sniper rifle. Not a bad option for a short range altercation or a classroom shoot-up but would probably lack the range needed for an outdoor engagement on the sports field.
They'd need to be at least 12 otherwise giving them a Barrett could be seen as irresponsible.the older pupils could use a .50 barrett sniper rifle.
.303 lee enfields accurate enough for most school playing fields. They'd need to be at least 12 otherwise giving them a Barrett could be seen as irresponsible.
In your own school, sure, but with a Barrett you could shoot kids in any school within a mile radius..303 lee enfields accurate enough for most school playing fields.
yeh but for that a mortar preferable as stray shots may injure or kill members of the general public. the high trajectory of a mortar prevents this sort of school boy error. In your own school, sure, but with a Barrett you could shoot kids in any school within a mile radius.
I'm not so sure. That one couldn't really have been much worse could it?Seriously, can you imagine what would have happened in that gig if everyone had a gun. Dark and crowded, gun shots and screams, people everywhere pulling guns. The death toll would have been far far greater - no doubt at all.
yeh cos obviously the jihadis would have attacked somewhere where everyone was packingSeriously, can you imagine what would have happened in that gig if everyone had a gun. Kids with mortars???? Are you completely out of you mind???yeh but for that a mortar preferable as stray shots may injure or kill members of the general public. the high trajectory of a mortar prevents this sort of school boy error.

What are you thinking?
it goes downhill from the first wordCheck out the logic in this one: "God made men and women, and that night guns made them equal".
