England v Germany

I am just glad it's over for England, all the ridiculous hype and merchandise-flogging about a team who are just not that good was grating. There are other teams who play better, who are more passionate, more spirited, more creative, more committed and less selfish, egotistical and dysfunctional than our national team and I would rather watch them, tbf. Euro 2008 was more fun for the same reasons.

Eh?

Hilarious! Only the FA could give 6m quid and a new contract to such a dozy inept twerp as Fabio.

Adrain Durham saying on Talkshite that after seeing the replay at halftime Germany should have let England walk in a goal at start of secind half. Like England would ahve done that!!

it made a huge difference though. England was always chasing the game in the 2nd half and risking getting caught.

I was wondering about the German goalie, he must (probably / possibly) have known the ball crossed the line but he leapt up and continued play as if nothing had happenned and nothing did ....

Is there no honesty in the game ?

I expect they would have missed it even if the germans let them try .

We've just had to put up with some morons in a Dorset pub singing about England winning the war.

Jeez.
I walked out of the shithole where I was watching it at half-time as there was some severe nastiness in the air, like the "Nine German bombers" dickhead song. Luckily I live in a small town and could easily walk to one of the pubs in the town centre.
I was brought up in a real hard nut area but I can live without that sort of vile, semi-racist shit quite comfortably.

A lot of English commantaters will have a lot of eggs on their faces right now,Andy Townend apparently said yesterday that none of the current German players would get into the English team, fucking stupid plastic

As I see it, Capello is to blame if only for one reason (along some playing choices) - considering the Italian trade is counterattack, Germany scored too easily on two breaks.
The defensive positioning was just wrong - there was just ONE defender behind Lampard after he booted the free-kick into the wall, and instead of quickly gaining position, Lamps decided to stop, raise his arms and ask for existing handball, and only get in position when the ball was already behind him. After that, the only way was down.

Of course, Upson and Glen Johnson were rubbish, but collectively it was the most inept defending in this competition so far - even worse than NK against Portugal.

Of course there's no honesty, James would've done exactly the same.

Hang on...your name...bit german int it?

Some twat on 5live has accussed the German goalie of cheating about Lumpards "goal" said he shoulda told the ref not to award the goal to England

The goalie might not necessarily have know that it wnet in as the ball was behind him, I doubt there is a keeper in the world who would have asked the ref to give it tho!

Blaming the foreign players playing in the Premier League now,England did'nt qualify for '74 and '78 finals when hardly any foreign players plied their trade over here ffs

lolololololololololol

Forza ABE

It's our year lol

Just think, come tomorrow the roads will be twat flag free

Two world wars and one world cup lol

Did anyone else notice the apparent animosity when Gerrard and Terry shook hands at the end of the game.. they no more than looked at each other..
I reckon there were more background shenanigans going on than we know of yet?
England certainly didn't produce a team performance by any means....

Subjective refereeing decisions are just one of the many variables in the game of football that make it such a compelling sport - like weather, altitude, supporters, time of day... GLT would just standardise the sport. That isn't a good thing.

Anyway, you'd have lost today regardless.
