England v Germany

This - the players have not gelled and not played well, especially in defence. They;ve been totally outclassed by Germany.

However the dis-allowed goal should be looked at in terms of goal line tech etc..but should not be used as an excuse for the defeat.

Well, it hardly makes much difference now does it? :D

frankly the papers should take a lot of the blame. i've never seriously thought that this squad had any chance at winning the world cup, they should have gone out in the group stage. but the papers have built up england out of all proportion to their ability. when the reality is confirmed, it appears as a sudden shock to many people, instead of being eminently foreeable.

capello should quit immediately after the game - germany haven't been all that good, it's not been a masterclass - england have simply been flopping all over the place and it's clear that capello can't do as well as sven goran eriksson.

and a lot of the players should throw in the towel on their international career. terry's been shit, rooney's been pisspoor, barry's been bloody awful...

I disagree about Germany not being good, other than that yup.

yup very very sad and indicative
"we woz robbed"
"it's only a game dear"
"you facking what, smack!"

thugs on, off the pitch and at home :(

Dont be a twat. You think German supporters wouldn't be the fucking same, germany are even worse than england in terms of the hype etc

Why don't you just fuck off.

I am not denying that DV is an issue but to say it is indicative of English or any supporters and use that as a points scoring exercise is pathetic and disgusting.

awww boohoo boohooo :(

did you notice my :( at the end

i feel great pain for those englund wives and partners who will get some of the fallout

and you are losing your 'nice' rep lately, gonna blame that on the footy as well

It's the obsession with Gerrard especially but also accepting he can play Gerrard and Lampard when one, and preferably neither, works better in the ad-hoc world of national football.

Capello got everything wrong, team selection, shape, balance, dynamism. And that hasn't changed since the first game in SA.

I agree, and a large part of that is down to Capello's decision-making when picking his side. He had - for once - a reasonably clear selection policy which, by picking Heskey, Carragher, Ledley King* and SWP he proceeded to tear up in an utterly illogical fashion. The in-form English players were, in the main, all left at home.

Add to that the lunacy of sticking with 4-4-2, despite it negating the three best players (Rooney and Lampard especially), and the continued preference for Heskey and you have what we have all witnessed today.
