Maybe you could just strip off all the old upholstery so it's a flat seat and make a shaped cushion to sit on the top.

When we cleared out my Mum's house recently we had an Ottoman and a laundry basket of a very similar design and exactly the same colour.

Oh, I did just get a new fridge-freezer. My old one had been on the blink for 3 years. The freezer worked, the fridge didn't. It was fine in winter because it stayed nice and cold but useless in summer.

I have a really expensive one from Bosch now, AAA rated, and it's lovely. Cold things in summer! Bloody hell. Had it for just over 2 weeks I think now, and still when I get something from the fridge I do a little giggle. It's so novel to have cold things again.

I love my new garden planters! Going to grow onions and garlic in them. Much nicer than those crappy grow bag things.

Hand towel and bath towel from Aldi in practical grey.
Mainly because my current bath towel is getting a bit fruity and it will be several months before I'll risk trying to wash and dry it.

I found these mushrooms in Oliver Bonas..the big one was reduced from £45 to £22 but sadly I went to the pub in between & came back and one big red had smashed & the other sold & just the green left. Sigh said I and bought a smaller red & even smaller green but I have just had 3 glasses of wine and just spent some xmas cash that was earmarked for Ikea on a big green one. Now I have 3..

Thanks, my little girls have been taking the piss mercilessly. The eldest has even been telling her friends' parents about her Dad buying stupid old spoons on Ebay and thinking they're antiques, Right cheered me up

A trip to an antiques centre then Ikea yielded a cast iron clothing iron to use as a door stop. Been after one for yonks as well as the sherry glasses I finally managed to purchase. Ikea for a multi photo frame for my astronomy postcards I got at Greenwich, some cheapish shadow boxes to make some collage type sentimental things up and wardrobe boxes to get the bedroom in better shape.

I have one of these with a yellow top. Made in Czechoslovakia stamped on the underside. In perfect condition too. Found it in the rubbish pile outside work one evening so I took the legs off to be able to carry it home on the train

FFS! If only I'd known. Last week I threw a table just like that but with a different top (and made in Czechoslovakia)
