Detail your latest furniture and homeware related purchases

I've just bought one of these:

Ooh, I've had mine for 16 years, and it's still fab. We've had to replace a few elements along the way, but it's still going strong. And think of what you could get in the wide slot :D

The bloke selling it on Ebay described it as The Rolls Royce of Toasters. :D
It bloody is. I sell them at work. I might get one when the current one going kaput. You can buy elements and replace them yourself when it goes pop so you don't need to buy another toaster. And you can use that sandwich cage for doing all sorts of fancy toasted goodness.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it arriving. Such is my sad life. :D Couldn't afford a new one so bought second hand. I'm eyeing up the matching kettle too.

Another 'Beno' slim CD shelf unit from ikea to add to the existing 3 in my office for more storeage - I can put them together without instructions these days.
A new mop too.

Blind Lemon got me a Tesco Value micro CD player. It's surprisingly good for less than £20. I am well chuffed and all my favouite CDs have been moved out of the front room...
Also I have been printing off favourite images and sticking them in poundshop frames...it really is fab having a room of my own. It's a tiny room but I've managed to fit everything I need in here....I have a new netbook as well, because my laptop was on its last legs...another bargain (Lenovo). There's no way I could fit a PC in here.

...and another great thing about this CD player. It has speakers which are like little boxes with flat tops, nice long speaker wires too...I have a lamp standing on one, and a jar of pens and pencils on the other...so many speakers have curved tops...what use is a speaker in a tiny space if you can't stand stuff on it?

Hey that is Hokusai's Wave, except that bit with the boat has been cut off.

Massive computer crashing picture deleted.

Damn you Wikipedia, how am I supposed to know that your matchbox sized image is big enough to use as a billboard poster!

Apologies to anyone who has had their computer freeze on that picture. Be comforted that I had to do a hard reset to get out of this one.

I have a small collection of variations on this famous image.

Ok....I had thought my friend had similar to the bunny one but never noticed the bunnies before....I think she prob has the one you posted.

Why is it copied?

It is copied because it is an 'iconic' image. It is among the top runners for the most imitated graphic image there is. I have been collecting examples for many years. It turns up on magazine covers, in cartoons, and on packaging - the most recent one I am aware of was for Hitachi television sets. One day I will do an illustrated thread about it.

I'm set for bedding for a while.

I trash-picked a down-filled matress topper. (Yes, I washed the shit out of it.) I don't usually trash-pick bedding, but those matress toppers run $200.

Then, I got a down filled comforter for my birthday:

I should be good for next winter. :)

Phone box lantern.

Bought as a gift, but I've just bought them something else that they asked for, so I might keep it for myself or give it to another friend. I really like it  :D

This rather enormous fake "Disni" Bambi from Mexico, ca. 1940s:

I just love this and so have just bought it to be out up either in my bathroom or bedroom :)
I still need to get mine framed.

I love this print, which is why I was drawn to the one with the bunnies in it.

Anyway... yesterday I bought a tablecloth and some new oven gloves. The pair I have are about 20 years old and now falling to bits.
