Detail your latest furniture and homeware related purchases

This rather enormous fake "Disni" Bambi from Mexico, ca. 1940s:

No waaaaay, my friends always buy me Bambi figurines, I've got quite a collection and wholly approve of that.

Hi :( I'm really ill and my house is a tip, so I'm escaping reality and looking back on happier times; here is how my house looks with some furniture and homeware related purchases within, for those interested.

We were walking home on sunday and the guy next door was throwing out a perfectly good nick Ikea springy chair. You know the classic one with wooden arms. Result!

Yep, fucking nightmare they were too (dovetails never been attempted before to the best of my knowledge, with good reason as it turned out). Very happy with them though.

Pip: Never had a white floor before... Things in the rooms are nice though, although I like my bedroom with more stuff and books etc (although obviously you may have them beyond the view of the photo). Anyway, booze and decongestants now in sufficient ratios to combat cold, night.

SHIFTY!

Cid, the white floors are a piece of piss, honestly. I clean them as often as I cleaned the normal wood, and they seem cleaner IYSWIM. Behind the photo is an armoire  and dressing/sewing table, might take a pic tomorrow.

And yeah, those benches are completely beautiful.

shifty: I suppose it does... Had really good responses to them, just haven't sold any. Only shown them at one exhibition though (not many cabinet making exhibitions), nice when very experienced designers/makers appreciate them too (only been a cabinet maker 3 years).

I just bought on ebay a old extending table & 3 chairs for £21. I'm planning on sanding them and painting them in a shabby chic style and re-upholstering the seats.

Is that enough for a ramblers' club yet? LOL

Two of these full-size double sofa beds for the family cabin in The Lakes.
Arriving 1st or 2nd April, and it's great as we'll be able to sleep up to 8 people!

Plus venetian blinds for every window, new curtains, new (mink-colour) carpets that won't show the lakeland mud so readily ... and replaced all the ceiling lights so tall people don't habitually bang their heads :)
((tall people))

I had one of those invisibleplanet, it was good and sturdy.
I managed to break it but I'm a bit cack handed and clumsy

I recently bought some new plates and mugs as they were on sale, I might replace the majority of my mix and match plates with them actually as they're very nice...
Also bought some measuring spoons from the pound shop which, hopefully, will improve my woeful baking

This absolutely gorgeous teapot: decades old, but spotless:

Lovely teapot, that.

I'm still very excited with our new sofabed. It might be plain, but we've been getting by with an ancient futon for ages. This has such exotic things as arms and arse padding. I love it.

Bump and talking to myself again, but we now have some light in the lounge, courtesy of this:

We can now see all the dirt

Trying to work out where I could put a pair of fucking wicked wall lights I've just seen on ebay  can't

Maybe I can pip, send me the link.. Our house came with hideous wall lights and I'm desperate to replace them. The ceilings are all a bit odd so need to keep the wall lights

Erm, I think my tastes are er... specialist :hmm:

They look a bit like this

Want me to PM you the link?

Ooh- those are absolutely gorgeous! :) Very seventies.

This great fleamarket find is just a reproduction of an original painting- not sure whether it's just a photography or a 'real' print, since it's framed in a way that makes it impossible to open and look without ruining the frame... It's not easy to see because I can't get the pic larger than thumbnail size, but it's supposed to show two Balinese dancers, I love love love this style:

And by the same artist, not as beautiful but lovely painting style nevertheless:

I've just bought an Eastham larder cupboard. My photos do it no justice at all. It needs a jolly good clean but it's just lovely and so retro I want to pop on a pinny and make some fairy cakes :)

Oh and I got some coffee cups and saucers, 5 of each. The sticker said £2.75 for a set of 4 in the charity shop and as they were Johnson Brothers I wasn't expecting them to really be that cheap. Ended up paying £7.50 for all 10 pieces. Got home, looked on eBay and 1 set of cup and saucer sells for a fiver :D Not about to sell them though. I got the cup and just the blue saucers shown on this page. And they will look bloody lovely behind the glass of my larder cupboard.

That larder cupboard is cool. As are the wall lights.

I bought myself a little wall sticker for my birthday. Pip's fault.

Posh flocked one, don'tcha know.

I need some madmen style 'pieces' for my living room.

Wall stickers, ornaments, art, fabric, coffee tables. Any suggestions welcome.

How much was your posh flocked sticker then?
