Today I bought a large framed print of one of my favourite paintings in the world

kli11.jpg

I saw it in the window of a charity shop and got it for £12. It's enormous and I love it
:D
Now to find somewhere to hang it...

Oh thats really nice:)

I know :D
I couldn't believe it. To buy a simliarly sized a framed print would cost about £84 from an online place. Bargain.
I can't stop looking at it, it's beautiful. I've hung it in my kitchen

Lovely!

My kitchen has two maps of the world and a drawing my middle one did....
I dont have much art in my house... Id like to organise all my photos etc.. I should really pull my finger out and do it

That post was a complete lie, im getting them this saturday.......

the person who was ordering them lied to me

I hate shelves like the last set, hate them with a passion. All that useless shelf space around the edges.

Mind you, can't argue with their prices.

e2a: Not that I'm saying I think you have bad taste or anything, just that as a designer I don't like seeing that wasted space.

I'm watching a bedframe on ebay. I have decided after years of lusting after it in Ikea that I really want it just in time for them to to stop selling it. I first saw this bed over 7 years ago!

I just 'won' the bedframe. It was very tense as I left it to the last 2 minutes-I couldn't cope with waiting till last 1 minute. I put in my maximum as my first bid then thankfully decided to up my maximum by £7 in the last 30 secs or so and secured the bed for £72.

It is the Noresund bed from Ikea which has been knocking around for years but I just really love it... Could someone put up a picture of it please?

I also have to collect this bed in a Fiat Punto...:D Seller says they got it home from Ikea in a Fiesta though!

A set of plaques by this guy called Petr Weigl... saw them at Cockpit Art studios about three years ago and loved it, and could just about afford it, but by the time I considered buying one, his prices had doubled (obviously found his market!). Went there again today, and he was selling off a load of smaller plaques (about 9 x 6 inches) for £75 each down from £300! Seeing as we were given a lovely wedding present of £250 to spend 'on art', still unspent, we immediately knew we wanted to by three of 'em.

Can't get piccy linky to work, but each on is a smooth, cream-coloured concrete plaque with what looks like a pitted, eroded path running through it, with a cool, chinese-looking square red stamp in each one, which is the artists signature. We're going to hang ours horizontally, in fact - there's 4 screws at the back, so you can hang them either way.

Dead chuffed, as I had just been wondering how we could ever find something we were both totally happy with to spend the money on (we'd come close before, but never 100% both happy) but we could be happy about these, as we've wanted his stuff for ages.
Ooh, I do like that!

Bought a brushed cotton fitted sheet today. Have never bought a brushed cotton sheet before.

Also an Egyptian cotton king-fitted sheet.

Some green hand towels to go with new bathroom.

I spent about £60 on picture frames in Ikea on Sunday and today I started to fill them.

I bought a beautiful papyrus in Egypt in October that is mostly blue and put it in a silver frame and on ebay the other week I bought a 'Make Art Not War' poster that is red/cream/black and put it in a brown frame. Both of them look amazing so much so I can't stop staring at them.

I used some smaller frames to use birthday cards that I have received over the years and planned to frame. It's my aim to choose at least one card per birthday and hang them up on the wall together. I had a beautiful black card with a gold butterfly with sparkly gems on it and put this in a square box frame and again I'm all gooey looking at it. I have done a few more but won't bore you with them all.

i bought this for my wall:

:D

And I'm looking for some fairylights to replace the onces over my bed which have all blown.

ha, yeah....

I am just mooching around looking for inspiration as I am redecorating my hallway...

I found this small little film bookshop on fri and flitted through the stuff they have in there. Never really done the film poster thing apart from when i shared with an ex and bought him a fritz lang's metropolis one.

A film poster in the hallway would be a bit much though:D

Kitchen would be good.

Is it this one?

I have that exact bed - tis very comfy

^^^ yes that is my bed... I just love it though I'm using my old mattress which is a little bit slimmer than the Ikea ones but seems Ok.

I managed to fit it into my Fiat Punto to with a pair of tights used to keep the boot down...:D

I'm now thinking about putting fairy lights across the headboard?

Nice. :)

I used to have one from Argos but different design on the bedstead. Found them a bit flimsy for certain purposes.

I bought a beautiful round gold gilt mirror for £4 from a charity shop. I'm thinking I might give it as a birthday gift as I don't have a place for it.

I bought 2 frames from Wilkos for £9 which I'm well impressed with. Going to put papyrus prints in them one for me & the other as a birthday gift.

I also bought a cheapo food processor from amazon yesterday or £16.

It is a super bed though my mattress is also on the slim side but it will have to do...:)

I got 2 new sofa covers in the post today which are a beautiful purple to replace the ever so impracticable cream covers. Though they were a absolute bugger to put on and I have ripped one at the seam twice.

I got a 9 tog goose feather and down king size quilt...a snorban pillow, and this to wrap them in...

Which ended up costing me £4.02 with delivery from Tescos

I'm never getting out of bed again! :D

can't find a picture, will take a pic when they arrive, bought 2 sofas this morning  our current sofas have served as well, we bought them in 1994, so they are on the way out in a big way, went to a shop in stoke newington this morning, saw a sofa , a Madrid 2 seater for £520, asked if he'd do a deal for 2, he knocked £100 off, which was good :)

they are chocolate brown (my favourite colour for shoes/boots ) in suede

in 15 years, I'll get some boots made out of the suede :D

only went up there for a hair cut and some breakfast
