I know! I loved Vinted: so much easier than bidding on eBay. Just paid with Apple Pay and picked up items from the corner shop at my convenience

I’ve now banned myself from looking at Vinted because I could easily go and blow all my money on (nearly) new threads 😆
I've only recently started going on there and am now insanely addicted to it. It's like the world's best chazzer innit? I got several pairs of cargo pants on there yesterday plus a Craghopper Aquadry anorak, and a Craghopper Aquadry insulated winter coat that looks like the nuts and I almost can't wait for it to be cold so I can wear it :D Also got some Craghopper insulated winter walking trousers.

Only went on for another pair of nosilife kecks :hmm::rolleyes::D

My search for a swimsuit in which I don't look like a sack of spuds has led me to this, in which I still mostly look like a sack of spuds, but at least in a flattering colour. It is 'tummy control' allegedly, but I think my tummy is an anarchist.

Lovely colour! I like the square neck too.

I've been looking at swimsuits like this

But I've decided to just try and get some plain black swim shorts and wear them with the top half of a two piece swimsuit I've already got, instead of the bikini bottoms. I just want something where I don't have to be arsed with a full bikini wax!

That's kind of what I've done, too. I bought the top part of the swimsuit and then separately a pair of swim shorts (something like this in light blue). I just got fed up with trying to find swimsuit bottoms that cover the entirety of my butt without being high-waisted.

Pros:
  • double up as fetching gym shorts
  • cover up pubes and no one gets shocked (no one being my parents)

Cons:
  • less comfortable for swimming, they balloon a little when underwater
  • and then can be a bit heavy/drippy when stepping out

I didn't want to spend money on buying a swimsuit today as I'm not paid until friday, going away at the weekend and haven't got much left. But then I realised the sales have started and will be over in a few weeks, everywhere will bring in autumn stock mid-July and I won't be able to find a swimsuit anywhere.

I bought Robin a new swimsuit recently - they don't like obvious 'female' ones and did have shorts and a top swim gear last year but they've probably outgrown it and also they didn't like that the top tended to ride up over their stomach. So this time I've got a one-piece with short legs and sleeves which are quite hard to find if you don't shell out for surfwear, but found some more basic ones on ebay.

You know when you keep buying stuff expecting it not to fit and then it does and not only can you not return it, you have to buy more stuff while you're on a lucky roll? Following on from those shoes I got some shorts. They are so comfy and show off my newest tattoo nicely.

On me, in my grubby mirror:

When I was younger I would never have worn shorts this short. In fact, I wouldn't have done until I got the tattoo and wanted to show it off. I used to be self-conscious of my thread veins. Now I don't give a fuck.

The pockets are actually deep enough to keep my phone in too, unlike the pathetic pockets on my other denim shorts.
Ooooh I love them! How does the sizing come up?

I got a Speedo “legsuit” last year and love it:

It feels like good quality and not too expensive.

I had ordered one from Johnny Loves Rosie but it was a pre-order that’s been delayed.

So this has now arrived (3 days too late) but I like it and want to keep it. Which is annoying as I now also have to keep the Oliver Boner bum bag. It’s bigger so more practical for a day out when I might need more than phone, cards and fags.

I mean I’ll use both but I am trying to buy less and not more! I’ll swap the strap as it seems a bit cheap.

I have copied Oula, but in a lighter wash. Might have to go back for the other two colours - they're PERFECT! Thanks for posting Oula

Some sensible striped Mum shorts in M&S. Anywhere more trendy was no good as they were all determined for shorts to be linen (Nope! Not dealing!) Or otherwise not made for those of us who don't have a waist - eg with wide tie belts or high 'paper bag' waist cuts that require people seeing your waistline. Haven't owned this sort of length in a while and it's actually very flattering.

No luck with a swimsuit that I don't look like a sack of spuds in but may go to Marble Arch branch where they should have the full range - Oxford Circus only had the 'hoiking your stomach in' ones in plain black or navy, which I don't want.

I wear plain terry towelling type swimsuits - they’re great. Try anything from ASOS to Hunza G. The great thing about them is that you can wear a white one without worrying it’s going to transform into see-through.

Here are huge discounts on Hunza G. Probably a con website, but to give you an idea. I have the purple one shown.

They are so comfortable, I sometimes wear them as a body in the UK, with jeans and a jacket.

I was coming here to talk about my new baseball boots! I love them so much. They're really comfy. But they're barefoot shoes, which you might not be into and also makes them expensive.
I got them in wide fitting but they also do a standard fit that is still fairly wide. They are made of hemp. From here: https://www.happylittlesoles.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=bohempia They come in various colours. I also have the fleecey winter ones in red, which are very comfy and wearing very well but I finally accepted this week that it is way too hot to wear them, so needed the canvas style ones as well (and hopefully they'll last longer if I have two pairs - one for winter, one for summer).
They came with black laces but looked a bit school plimsoley. I think changing the laces made a big difference.
I've got very wide feet so interested in trying barefoot shoes, but finding it difficult to find them in shops to try on. Is there any particular store you'd recommend? Or is It really just a question of buying online and hoping the size is ok?

After months of buying things to sell, I bought myself a linen shirt, a black shirred dress and this kimono style top. It's a dark burgundy plum sort of colour.

It's a one off as it's a sample and of course I bought it from another reseller.

ETA Christ I sound like a twat 🤣 It's a lovely top and I'm just pleased to find it.

This online store:Returns Policy | Happy Little Soles
You have to pay postage but they have free returns so I just order loads of pairs to try at home. They have good sizing notes on the shoes, you can measure your foot first and they're really helpful by email and phone. I called/messaged about having wide feet and they told me which brands were likely to work and which wouldn't. Bohempia was one of the widest and she recommended another wide brand too but I can't remember which. Sorry.

From my experience as a wide-footed person: merrells and peerko (I think that's what they're called) were too narrow for me. Bohempia and Freet are nice and wide. I also have Xero sandles which are wide but I haven't tried their shoes.
