Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

I don’t really discount much on BNWT stuff which most of mine is. 5-10%. Maybe I should list for more in the first place but I can’t really be arsed with the haggling. If someone wants a brand new dress for 3 quid they can try someone else.

If I think something is priced fairly, I’ll just pay it.

I’m probably not the right temperament for selling stuff. FB marketplace makes me rage. 😄

Does anyone have any suggestions for decent baseball boots that are not Converse?

My parents have said they'll buy me some new trainers for my birthday.

I wore Converse for years until they changed them (a long time ago now) and made them super narrow and now I can't wear them :(
I don't have particularly wide feet either.

I have some Vans baseball shoes but they have a very chunky sole and I'm looking for something closer to the classic style.

I’ve got Vejas and they’re lovely and comfy but expensive.

Some sensible striped Mum shorts in M&S. Anywhere more trendy was no good as they were all determined for shorts to be linen (Nope! Not dealing!) Or otherwise not made for those of us who don't have a waist - eg with wide tie belts or high 'paper bag' waist cuts that require people seeing your waistline. Haven't owned this sort of length in a while and it's actually very flattering.

No luck with a swimsuit that I don't look like a sack of spuds in but may go to Marble Arch branch where they should have the full range - Oxford Circus only had the 'hoiking your stomach in' ones in plain black or navy, which I don't want.

Cloo my mum also picked me up a pair of these in blue and white stripes.
I said I liked them but I'd look like my dad in them.
At which point my dad walked in, back from the golf club, wearing almost exactly the same shorts but in big man shape :D
The womens ones have gone back to M&S

You know that annoying thing when you can picture the item you want but can’t find it? Of course I could a couple of years ago and didn’t buy it because I felt silly in it. 😡

In this case, a black cotton maxi dress with puff sleeves. I will wear it with gold hoops and my new sling bag and I will feel good. Except I can’t find the exact fucking dress.

Just to be clear Cloo , I only thought I would look like my dad because I knew he owed a pair of shorts with a very similar coloured striped pattern.
There was nothing wrong with the shorts, I liked them.

Do you know the brand? It could be on Vinted?

Discovered Vinted the other week and splurged on a load of work clothes for new job. It’s homebased, but I still want to look smart (at least from the waist up). For just over a hundred quid, I got ten items, including two Cos dresses and one Whistles.

ETA. The stripy dress had been dry-cleaned and the ticket said “VOMIT”. One woman’s boke, another woman’s bargain.

Hope you get reunited with the dress!

I saw a lovely faux leather biker jacket in M&S years ago and decided not to buy it because I thought it looked a bit too “mid-life crisis”. Then I went on a chazza haul some time after and there it was in a shop, in excellent condition, for a fraction of the price.

It still does look a bit mid-life crisis, to be fair, but I’ve reached the stage of midlife where I’ve stopped giving a fuck.

I think one was new look. I have checked Vinted and Depop. I’ve found something I like on asos so will order that and another couple of options.
I bought a Monki dress with puff sleeves earlier this week and there's a black version if that helps.
Nevermind - it's actually it's a midi but not a maxi.

I was coming here to talk about my new baseball boots! I love them so much. They're really comfy. But they're barefoot shoes, which you might not be into and also makes them expensive.
I got them in wide fitting but they also do a standard fit that is still fairly wide. They are made of hemp. From here: https://www.happylittlesoles.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=bohempia They come in various colours. I also have the fleecey winter ones in red, which are very comfy and wearing very well but I finally accepted this week that it is way too hot to wear them, so needed the canvas style ones as well (and hopefully they'll last longer if I have two pairs - one for winter, one for summer). They came with black laces but looked a bit school plimsoley. I think changing the laces made a big difference.

You know when you keep buying stuff expecting it not to fit and then it does and not only can you not return it, you have to buy more stuff while you're on a lucky roll? Following on from those shoes I got some shorts. They are so comfy and show off my newest tattoo nicely.

On me, in my grubby mirror:

When I was younger I would never have worn shorts this short. In fact, I wouldn't have done until I got the tattoo and wanted to show it off. I used to be self-conscious of my thread veins. Now I don't give a fuck.

The pockets are actually deep enough to keep my phone in too, unlike the pathetic pockets on my other denim shorts.

My search for a swimsuit in which I don't look like a sack of spuds has led me to this, in which I still mostly look like a sack of spuds, but at least in a flattering colour. It is 'tummy control' allegedly, but I think my tummy is an anarchist.
